Claims (41)

1 . A device comprising:

an eyeglasses frame configured to be worn on a head of a user;

an optical module coupled to the eyeglasses frame;

a lens coupled to the eyeglasses frame, wherein the lens is configured to obscure a view of the optical module;

a see-through display coupled to the eyeglasses frame and configured to present, to an eye of the user, a view of image content, concurrently with presenting, to the eye of the user, via the see-through display, a view of a local environment; and

an eye cover configured to removably couple to the eyeglasses frame, wherein the eye cover comprises a light shield,

wherein:

the light shield is configured to occlude the view of the local environment, concurrently with permitting the view of the image content, when the eye cover is removably coupled to the eyeglasses frame.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the lens is removably coupled to the eyeglasses frame.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the lens comprises a corrective lens.

4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein:

the device further comprises an image source, and

the optical module is configured to receive the image content from the image source.

5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein a transmissivity of the lens is electronically adjustable.

6 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the lens comprises a liquid crystal lens.

7 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the lens comprises crossed polarizers having a level of cross, and wherein the lens is electronically adjustable to adjust the level of cross.

8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein:

a first portion of the lens comprises a first transmissivity, and

a second portion of the lens comprises a second transmissivity, the second transmissivity different from the first transmissivity.

9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said permitting the view of the image content comprises permitting a view of an image of the local environment.

10 . The device of claim 9 , wherein the lens comprises a progressive tint.

11 . A method comprising:

presenting, to an eye of a user, via a see-through display coupled to an eyeglasses frame configured to be worn on a head of the user, a view of image content;

concurrently with said presenting the view of the image content, presenting, to the eye of the user, via the see-through display, a view of a local environment; and

in accordance with a removable coupling of an eye cover to the eyeglasses frame:

occluding, by a light shield of the eye cover, the view of the local environment; and

permitting the view of the image content,

wherein:

the eyeglasses frame is coupled to an optical module and further coupled to a lens, and

the method further comprises obscuring, by the lens, a view of the optical module.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the lens is removably coupled to the eyeglasses frame.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the lens comprises a corrective lens.

14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising: receiving, at the optical module from an image source coupled to the eyeglasses frame, the image content.

15 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising electronically adjusting a transmissivity of the lens.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the lens comprises a liquid crystal lens.

17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the lens comprises crossed polarizers having a level of cross, and wherein the method further comprises electronically adjusting the level of cross.

18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein:

a first portion of the lens comprises a first transmissivity, and

a second portion of the lens comprises a second transmissivity, the second transmissivity different from the first transmissivity.

19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said permitting the view of the image content comprises permitting a view of an image of the local environment.

20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the lens comprises a progressive tint.
