Multiple application QR code
The present invention relates to a multiple application QR code capable of storing information of a plurality of data containers in such a way that a respective information can be retrieved for an application program and the configuring of the application program in a reliable and time-efficient manner. There is provided methods and device whereby the configuring an application program to run on a device comprises reading a QR code, using a first application program, the QR code containing at least two data containers, extracting a first information from a first data container in the QR code and downloading a second application program using the first information, extracting a second information from a second data container in the QR code, the second information containing configuration parameters for the second application program, and using the configuration parameters to configure the second application program.
1 . A method of configuring an application program to run on a device comprising
reading a QR code, using a first application program, the QR code containing at least two-data containers;
extracting a first information from a first data container in the QR code and downloading a second application program using the first information;
extracting a second information from a second data container in the QR code, the second information containing configuration parameters for the second application program, and
using the configuration parameters to configure the second application program.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the first information contains an information identifying an application program repository.
3 . The method of claim 2 wherein the information comprises a URL.
4 . The method of claim 3 wherein the URL provided to the application program repository contains a part which is arranged to be ignored by the application program repository.
5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the second application program is installed on a different device.
6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the first application program is arranged to read the at least two data containers in the QR code.
7 . The method of claim 1 wherein the second information is stored as stored information on the device after the extraction and the stored information is used by the second application program.
8 . The method of claim 1 the second information is arranged to cause the first application program to cause the device to initiate a connection with a second device.
9 . The method of claim 1 wherein the second information enables the device to obtain the configuration parameters from a second device over a networking interface.
10 . The method of claim 1 wherein a procedure for the using of the configuration parameters is encoded in the QR code itself.
11 . The method of claim 1 wherein the application program is arranged to be used as a configuring SHS application.
12 . The method of claim 1 wherein the second application program is arranged to be used as DPP configurator.
13 . The method of claim 12 wherein the second information contains a DPP public key for the device.
14 . The method of claim 1 wherein the second application program is used configure an IoT device and the second information contains at least on of selected from the group of an identifier of the device, MUD file, a networking address of the device, and cryptographic keys of the device.
15 . The method of claim 1 wherein the second application program is obtained via a wireless network.
16 . The method of claim 1 wherein the first application program is a camera application program or is a function of a camera application program.
17 . An apparatus arranged for decoding information encoded in a QR code, the QR code having a plurality of data containers, wherein a data container of the plurality contains information arranged to enable the obtaining of a second application program and a data container contains information to enable the configuring of the second application program.
