Abstract

A method for conducting payment transaction by an employee using an employer payment system includes retrieving a token or an account identification from the employee payment card presented by a consumer, sending an authorization request with token, account identification and transaction data to an acquirer processor, identifying the employer and the employee associated with the token or account identification, determining whether the employee is authorized for the requested transaction based on an employee information from the employer's database, sending, to the employer, a transaction request from the point of sale terminal, transferring funds electronically from the employee's funds account or employer's account to the merchant in accordance with the transaction request between the merchant and the employee, and updating the employer's database with the transaction information once the transfer of funds is completed.

Claims (55)

1 . A method comprising:

registering, by an acquirer processor, an employer with an employer payment system hosted at the acquirer processor;

receiving, by the acquirer processor, information regarding an employee of the employer from a database;

registering, by the acquirer processor, the employee of the employer with the employer payment system;

generating, by the acquirer processor, a token and account identification of the employee registered with the employer payment system;

issuing, by the acquirer processor, an employee payment card to the employee registered with the employer payment system of the employer;

generating, by the acquirer processor, an interactive graphical user interface including user elements enabling the employer to modify a credit allotment associated with the employee through linking a deposit account, an employer-issued credit card account, or an employee funds account of the employer;

receiving, by the acquirer processor, an authorization request for a transaction between the employee and a merchant, wherein the authorization request includes the token; and

initiating, by the acquirer processor, an electronic transfer of funds from an account with the employer to the merchant based on the authorization request and the modified credit allotment.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, by the acquirer processor, whether the employee is authorized for the transaction.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

updating, by the acquirer processor, a database of the employer with transaction data based on a completion of the electronic transfer of funds.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating, by the acquirer processor, account identification for the employee, wherein the authorization request includes the account identification.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the account is a deposit account where the employee deposits earnings.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the account is a credit account reflecting credit allotted to the employee by the employer.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the employer allots the credit based on a salary of the employee.

8 . A device comprising:

a memory configured to store instructions; and

one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:

registering, by an acquirer processor, an employer with an employer payment system hosted at the acquirer processor;

receiving, by the acquirer processor, information regarding an employee of the employer from a database;

registering, by the acquirer processor, the employee of the employer with the employer payment system;

generating, by the acquirer processor, a token and account identification of the employee registered with the employer payment system;

issuing, by the acquirer processor, an employee payment card to the employee registered with the employer payment system of the employer;

generating, by the acquirer processor, an interactive graphical user interface including user elements enabling the employer to modify a credit allotment associated with the employee through linking a deposit account, an employer-issued credit card account, or an employee funds account of the employer;

receiving, by the acquirer processor, an authorization request for a transaction between the employee and a merchant, wherein the authorization request includes the token; and

initiating, by the acquirer processor, an electronic transfer of funds from an account with the employer to the merchant based on the authorization request and the modified credit allotment.

9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:

determining, by the acquirer processor, whether the employee is authorized for the transaction.

10 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:

updating, by the acquirer processor, a database of the employer with transaction data based on a completion of the electronic transfer of funds.

11 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:

generating, by the acquirer processor, account identification for the employee, wherein the authorization request includes the account identification.

12 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the account is a deposit account where the employee deposits earnings.

13 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the account is a credit account reflecting credit allotted to the employee by the employer.

14 . The device of claim 13 , wherein the employer allots the credit based on a salary of the employee.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

registering, by an acquirer processor, an employer with an employer payment system hosted at the acquirer processor;

receiving, by the acquirer processor, information regarding an employee of the employer from a database;

registering, by the acquirer processor, the employee of the employer with the employer payment system;

generating, by the acquirer processor, a token and account identification of the employee registered with the employer payment system;

issuing, by the acquirer processor, an employee payment card to the employee registered with the employer payment system of the employer;

generating, by the acquirer processor, an interactive graphical user interface including user elements enabling the employer to modify a credit allotment associated with the employee through linking a deposit account, an employer-issued credit card account, or an employee funds account of the employer;

receiving, by the acquirer processor, an authorization request for a transaction between the employee and a merchant, wherein the authorization request includes the token; and

initiating, by the acquirer processor, an electronic transfer of funds from an account with the employer to the merchant based on the authorization request and the modified credit allotment.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:

determining, by the acquirer processor, whether the employee is authorized for the transaction.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:

updating, by the acquirer processor, a database of the employer with transaction data based on a completion of the electronic transfer of funds.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:

generating, by the acquirer processor, account identification for the employee, wherein the authorization request includes the account identification.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the account is a deposit account where the employee deposits earnings.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the account is a credit account reflecting credit allotted to the employee by the employer.
