Symbol specific multiplier accumulation sequence and accumulated symbol specific multiplier use sequence
Gaming systems and methods that provide a symbol specific multiplier accumulation sequence and a related accumulated symbol specific multiplier use sequence, wherein the accumulation sequence includes increases of the individual respective multipliers associated with the specific symbols during one or more plays of one or more games, and wherein the use sequence includes the use of the multipliers associated with the specific symbols.
1 . A electronic gaming machine comprising:
a housing comprising an openable access door;
a security monitoring circuit within the housing that monitors the access door and sends a signal to a remote device when the access door is opened;
a power distribution component within the housing;
a plurality of mechanical input devices supported by the housing and comprising an acceptor configured to sense a physical item associated with a monetary value;
a plurality of output devices comprising a display device supported by the housing and a speaker supported by the housing;
a sound card within the housing and operable with the speaker;
a processor within the housing; and
a trusted fault-tolerant memory device within the housing and storing a plurality of instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
determine a first display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing:
for a first sequence comprising first plays of a game, the game comprising a first quantity of different symbols, a display, by a display device, for each of a second quantity of the different symbols, of a multiplier initially associated with that symbol, wherein the second quantity is at least one and less than or equal to the first quantity,
a display, by the display device, of the first sequence comprising the first plays of the game, and
during the display of the first sequence, a display, by the display device, for each of the second quantity of the different symbols, of an increase of the multiplier associated with that symbol;
when an opening of the access door is detected via the security monitoring circuit following the determination of the first display state of the electronic gaming machine:
disable any occurrence of a triggering event for a second sequence,
store data associated with the first display state of the electronic gaming machine, the stored data comprising the multipliers associated with the symbols, and
following at least a closing of the access door detected via the security monitoring circuit:
load the stored data to reconstitute the first display state of the electronic gaming machine, and
enable an occurrence of the triggering event for the second sequence; and
determine a second display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing:
a display, by the display device, of the triggering event for the second sequence, the second sequence comprising second plays of the game,
a display, by the display device, of the second sequence, and
during the display of the second sequence, a display, by the display device, for each of the second quantity of the different symbols, of:
an indication of that symbol being part of a winning symbol combination,
an indication of an amount based on that winning symbol combination, and
an indication of an increased amount based on the multiplier associated with that symbol.
2 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the second quantity is one.
3 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the second quantity is more than one.
4 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to cause no multipliers to be associated with any of the plurality of different symbols that are not one of the second quantity of the different symbols.
5 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the second quantity is at least two and the multipliers initially associated with said at least two symbols are different.
6 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the second quantity is at least two and during the display of the second sequence, the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, determine a further display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing a display, by the display device, for at least two of the second quantity of the different symbols, of a different amount of an increase of the multiplier associated with that symbol.

The electronic gaming machine claim 1 , wherein during the first sequence, the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, determine a further display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing a display, by the display device, of a first increase of a first amount of the multiplier associated with one symbol of the second quantity of different symbols, and a second increase of a second amount of the multiplier associated with one symbol of the second quantity of different symbols, wherein the first amount is different than the second amount.

The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein during the first sequence, the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, determine a further display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing a display, by the display device, of a first increase of a first amount of the multiplier associated with one symbol of the second quantity of different symbols and after a display of a first multiplier change triggering event, and a second increase of a second amount of the multiplier associated with one symbol of the second quantity of different symbols after a display of a second multiplier change triggering event, wherein the first amount is different than the second amount, and wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is different than the second multiplier change triggering event.
9 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 8 , wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is a display of a first winning symbol combination and the different second multiplier change triggering event is a display of a different second winning symbol combination.
10 . A electronic gaming machine comprising:
a housing comprising an openable access door;
a security monitoring circuit within the housing that monitors the access door and sends a signal to a remote device when the access door is opened;
a power distribution component within the housing;
a plurality of mechanical input devices supported by the housing and comprising an acceptor configured to sense a physical item associated with a monetary value;
a plurality of output devices comprising a display device supported by the housing and a speaker supported by the housing;
a sound card within the housing and operable with the speaker;
a processor within the housing; and
a trusted fault-tolerant memory device within the housing and storing a plurality of instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
determine a first display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing:
for a first sequence comprising first plays of a game, the game comprising a first quantity of different symbols, a display, by a display device, for each of a second quantity of the different symbols, of a multiplier initially associated with that symbol, wherein the second quantity is more than one and less than or equal to the first quantity, wherein no multipliers are associated with any of the first quantity of different symbols,
a display, by the display device, of the first sequence comprising the first plays of the game, and
during the display of the first sequence, a display, by the display device, for each of the second quantity of the different symbols, of an increase of the multiplier associated with that symbol;
when an opening of the access door is detected via the security monitoring circuit following the determination of the first display state of the electronic gaming machine:
disable any occurrence of a triggering event for a second sequence,
store data associated with the first display state of the electronic gaming machine, the stored data comprising the multipliers associated with the symbols, and
following at least a closing of the access door detected via the security monitoring circuit:
load the stored data to reconstitute the first display state of the electronic gaming machine, and
enable an occurrence of the triggering event for the second sequence; and
determine a second display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing:
a display, by the display device, of the triggering event for the second sequence, the second sequence comprising second plays of the game,
a display, by the display device, of the second sequence, and
during the display of the second sequence, a display, by the display device, for one of the second quantity of the different symbols, of:
an indication of that symbol being part of a winning symbol combination,
an indication of an amount based on that winning symbol combination, and
an indication of an increased amount based on the multiplier associated with that symbol.
11 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 10 , wherein the multipliers initially associated with two of the second quantity of different symbols are different.
12 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 10 , wherein the multipliers initially associated with two of the second quantity of different symbols are the same.
13 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, determine a further display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing a display, by the display device, for the second quantity of the different symbols, of a different amount of an increase of the multiplier associated with that symbol.
14 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 10 , wherein during the first sequence, the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, determine a further display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing a display, by the display device, of a first increase of a first amount of the multiplier associated with one symbol of the second quantity of different symbols and after a display of a first multiplier change triggering event, and a second increase of a second amount of the multiplier associated with one symbol of the second quantity of different symbols after a display of a second multiplier change triggering event, wherein the first amount is different than the second amount, and wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is different than the second multiplier change triggering event.
15 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 14 , wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is a display of a first winning symbol combination and the different second multiplier change triggering event is a display of a different second winning symbol combination.
16 . A electronic gaming machine comprising:
a housing comprising an openable access door;
a security monitoring circuit within the housing that monitors the access door and sends a signal to a remote device when the access door is opened;
a power distribution component within the housing;
a plurality of mechanical input devices supported by the housing and comprising an acceptor configured to sense a physical item associated with a monetary value;
a plurality of output devices comprising a display device supported by the housing and a speaker supported by the housing;
a sound card within the housing and operable with the speaker;
a processor within the housing; and
a trusted fault-tolerant memory device within the housing and storing a plurality of instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
determine a first display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing:
for a first sequence comprising first plays of a game, the game comprising a plurality of different symbols, a display, by a display device, for a first symbol of the plurality of different symbols, of a multiplier initially associated with that first symbol,
a display, by the display device, of the first sequence comprising the first plays of the game,
during the display of the first sequence, a display, by the display device, of a first increase of the multiplier associated with the first symbol, and
during the display of the first sequence, a display, by the display device, of a different second increase of the multiplier associated with the first symbol;
when an opening of the access door is detected via the security monitoring circuit following the determination of the first display state of the electronic gaming machine:
disable any occurrence of a triggering event for a second sequence,
store data associated with the first display state of the electronic gaming machine, the stored data comprising the multipliers associated with the symbols, and
following at least a closing of the access door detected via the security monitoring circuit:
load the stored data to reconstitute the first display state of the electronic gaming machine, and
enable an occurrence of the triggering event for the second sequence; and
determine a second display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing:
a display, by the display device, of the triggering event for the second sequence, the second sequence comprising second plays of the game,
a display, by the display device, of the second sequence, and
during the display of the second sequence, a display, by the display device, for the first symbol, of:
an indication of the first symbol being part of a first winning symbol combination,
an indication of an amount based on that first winning symbol combination, and
an indication of an increased amount based on the multiplier associated with the first symbol.
17 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 16 , wherein the first increase of the multiplier is after a display of a first multiplier change triggering event, and the second increase of the multiplier is after a display of a second multiplier change triggering event, and wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is different than the second multiplier change triggering event.
18 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 17 , wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is a display of the first winning symbol combination and the different second multiplier change triggering event is a display of a different second winning symbol combination.
19 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 17 , wherein the first multiplier change triggering event is a display of the first winning symbol combination comprising the first symbol, and the different second multiplier change triggering event is a display of a different second winning symbol combination comprising the first symbol.
20 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 16 , wherein during the first sequence, the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to determine a further display state of the electronic gaming machine by causing
for the first sequence, a display, by the display device, for a second symbol of the different symbols, of a multiplier initially associated with that second symbol,
during the display of the first sequence, a display, by the display device, of a first increase of the multiplier associated with the second symbol,
during the display of the second sequence, a display, by the display device, for the second symbol, of:
an indication of the second symbol being part of a winning symbol combination,
an indication of an amount based on that winning symbol combination, and
an indication of an increased amount based on the multiplier associated with the second symbol.
