6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing the second video to be played at the device such that, during the playing of the second video, tailored explanations of terms or concepts related to the sporting event are not displayed, further comprises:

detecting that a user is accessing the second video at a second time, after accessing the first video at a first time earlier than the second time; and

determining, at the second time, an increase in a frequency of how often the user views sporting events of a same type as the sporting event during a time period from the first time to the second time, as compared to a time period prior to the first time.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein causing the tailored explanation to be simultaneously presented with the first video is based on:

transmitting the term to a plurality of social network profiles of a social network; and

receiving input from a plurality of users of the plurality of social network profiles on the social network, each input providing a given explanation of the term.

8 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

receiving input indicating an identification of a set of experts on the social network for a given type of sporting event; and

limiting transmission of the term to social network profiles of the identified set of experts.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing presenting of the tailored explanation of the term comprises at least one of replacing a display of the term with the tailored explanation, presenting an overlay over the first video with the tailored explanation adjacent to the term, or highlighting the term in the playing of the first video.

10 . A system comprising:

control circuitry configured to

cause a first video associated with a sporting event to be played at a device, wherein the first video is received from a first content source;

identify, based at least in part on first metadata associated with the first video, a term or concept related to the sporting event;

generate a tailored explanation of the identified term or concept and cause the tailored explanation to be simultaneously presented with the playing of the first video;

receive input to cause a second video associated with the sporting event to be played at the device, wherein the second video is received from a second content source; and

based at least in part on the received input and based at least in part on second metadata associated with the second video, cause the second video to be played at the device such that, during the playing of the second video at the device, tailored explanations of terms or concepts related to the sporting event are not presented.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the device is associated with a user profile of a user, wherein the user profile comprises one or more user preferences, and wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

identify, based at least in part on the user profile, a sport education level of the user in relation to the sporting event; and

compare the identified sport education level with a threshold sport education level;

wherein the control circuitry configured to generate the tailored explanation of the identified term or concept and cause the tailored explanation to be simultaneously presented with the playing of the first video further based at least in part on determining that the identified sport education level is less than the threshold sport education level.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the sport education level of the user is based at least in part on a viewing history indicated in the user profile with respect to one or more sporting events.

13 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the device is associated with a user profile, wherein the user profile comprises one or more user preferences, and wherein the control circuitry is further configured to:

identify, in the user profile, a sport education level in relation to the sporting event; and

compare the identified sport education level with a first threshold sport education level and a second threshold sport education level;

wherein the control circuitry configured to generate the tailored explanation of the identified term or concept and cause the tailored explanation to be simultaneously presented with the first video is performed based at least in part on determining that the identified sport education level of a user is greater than the first threshold sport education level and is less than the second threshold sport education level, and wherein the tailored explanation of the identified term or concept is caused to be more advanced than when the identified sport education level of the user is less than the first threshold sport education level.
