Abstract

Multi-cameras and in particular dual-cameras comprising a Wide camera comprising a Wide lens and a Wide image sensor, the Wide lens having a Wide effective focal length EFL W and a folded Tele camera comprising a Tele lens with a first optical axis, a Tele image sensor and an OPFE, wherein the Tele lens includes, from an object side to an image side, a first lens element group G1, a second lens element group G2 and a third lens element group G3, wherein at least two of the lens element groups are movable relative to the image sensor along the first optical axis to bring the Tele lens to two zoom states, wherein an effective focal length (EFL) of the Tele lens is changed from EFL T,min in one zoom state to EFL T,max in the other zoom state, wherein EFL Tmin >1.5×EFL W and wherein EFL Tmax >1.5×EFL Tmin .

Claims (30)

1 . A dual-camera, comprising:

a Wide camera comprising a Wide lens having a Wide effective focal length (EFLW); and

a folded Tele camera, comprising a Tele lens comprising a plurality of lens elements and having an optical axis, an image sensor, and an optical path folding element (OPFE),

wherein the Tele lens includes, from an object side to an image side, a first lens element group (G1), a second lens element group (G2) and a third lens element group (G3),

wherein the lens elements within a lens group do not move with respect to each other,

wherein the Tele lens is located between the OPFE and the image sensor,

wherein at least two of the lens element groups are movable relative to the image sensor along the optical axis to bring the Tele lens to two, first and second zoom states,

wherein an effective focal length (EFL) of the Tele lens is changed from a value (EFLmin) in the first zoom state to a value (EFLmax) in the second zoom state,

wherein EFLmin>1.5×EFLW, wherein the plurality of lens elements have a maximum clear aperture height (CA),

wherein the folded camera is included in a folded camera module having a folded camera module height (HM)≤CA+3.9 mm, and

wherein the dual-camera is included in a mobile device.

2 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein HM≤CA+3.5 mm.

3 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein HM≤CA+3 mm.

4 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein HM≤CA+2.5 mm.

5 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein HM≤CA+2 mm.

6 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein HM≥CA+1.3 mm.

7 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein one of the lens groups is stationary relative to the Tele image sensor between the two zoom states at infinity focus.

8 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein the Tele lens has a f-number (F #) and wherein a minimal value (F #min) of F # in the first zoom state fulfills F #min<3.

9 . The dual-camera of claim 8 , wherein F #min<2.5.

10 . The dual-camera of claim 8 , wherein F #min≤2.

11 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein the Tele lens has a f-number (F #) and wherein a maximal value (F #max) of F # in the second zoom state fulfills F #max<4.5.

12 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein G1 has a positive refractive power, G2 has a positive refractive power and G3 has a negative refractive power.

13 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein 20 mm≤EFLmax≤40 mm and 10 mm≤EFLmin≤20 mm.

14 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein a first lens element (L1) of the plurality of N lens elements faces an object side and has a (CA) value larger than a (CA) value of any other of the N lens elements.

15 . The dual-camera of claim 1 , wherein for any lens element group, movement from the first zoom state to the second zoom state has a range smaller than 0.6×(EFLmax−EFLmin).
