Method and apparatus for providing user consent in wireless communication system
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The disclosure provides a method for providing user consent for UE in a 5G network by a UE. The method includes receiving a request message from a network apparatus to check with the UE whether the network apparatus can provide subscribed event information to a NWDAF. The request message includes the subscribed event information and a consumer NF ID to obtain consent from the UE. Further, the method includes determining, by the UE, using the preconfigured data whether a consent can be provided for the subscribed event information to the NWDAF. Further, the method includes sending, by the UE, a response message to the network apparatus, wherein the response message comprises a consent indication allowing the network apparatus to provide the subscribed event information to the NWDAF.
1 . A method of a user equipment (UE) for providing user consent in a wireless communication network, wherein the method comprises:
receiving, from a network entity, a request message to determine whether the network entity is consented to provide subscribed event information to a network data analytics function (NWDAF); and
based on a determination that the preconfigured data matches with the received request message, sending a response message to the network entity,
wherein the response message comprises a consent indication allowing the network entity to provide the subscribed event information to the NWDAF.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request message is a non-access stratum (NAS) request message comprising the subscribed event information and a consumer network function (NF) identifier (ID) to obtain the user consent from the UE.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user consent for the subscribed event information is received from a user of the UE.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
providing, to a serving network, the user consent based on an indication received from a home network.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising
identifying a UE configuration update (UPU) procedure in which a UE configuration is updated by the network entity, the UPU procedure instructing the UE to initiate a registration procedure, wherein an access and mobility management (AMF) entity transmits, to the UE, an indication indicating an initiation of the registration procedure; and
triggering the UPU procedure for sending the user consent to the network entity when a user of the UE changes the user consent.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the network entity is comprises one of an access and mobility management function (AMF) entity, an operations and maintenance (OAM) entity, an application function (AF) entity, a session management function (SMF) entity, a visited-AMF (V-AMF), or an authentication server function (AUSF) entity.
7 . A method of a network entity for providing user consent in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:
receiving, from a network data analytics function (NWDAF), a request for subscribed event information of a user equipment (UE);
determining whether the user consent is available for the request received from the NWDAF;
sending, to the UE, a request message to determine whether the network entity provides the subscribed event information to the NWDAF based on a determination that the user consent is available for the request;
receiving, from the UE, a response message comprising the user consent allowing the network entity to provide the subscribed event information to the NWDAF, wherein the response message is generated when the request message matches with preconfigured data stored at the UE; and
sending, to the NWDAF, an event report comprising the subscribed event information based on the user consent received from the UE.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the subscribed event information comprises user information.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the network entity is comprises one of an access and mobility management function (AMF) entity, an operations and maintenance (OAM) entity, an application function (AF) entity, a session management function (SMF) entity, a visited-AMF (V-AMF), an authentication server function (AUSF) entity.
10 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
identifying a UE configuration update (UPU) procedure; and
triggering a user consent request when a subscription expires, an on-going subscription is elapsed, or a new user consent is required for a service.
11 . A user equipment (UE) for providing user consent in a wireless communication network, the UE comprising:
memory;
a processor; and
a controller connected to the memory and the processor, the controller configured to:
receive, from a network entity, a request message to determine whether the network entity is consented to provide subscribed event information to a network data analytics function (NWDAF); and
based on a determination that the preconfigured data matches with the received request message, send a response message to the network entity, wherein the response message comprises a consent indication allowing the network entity to provide the subscribed event information to the NWDAF.
12 . The UE of claim 11 , wherein the request message is a non-access stratum (NAS) request message comprising the subscribed event information and a consumer network function (NF) identifier (ID) to obtain the user consent from the UE.
13 . The UE of claim 11 , wherein the network entity comprises one of an access and mobility management function (AMF) entity, an operations and maintenance (OAM) entity, an application function (AF) entity, a session management function (SMF) entity, a visited-AMF (V-AMF) entity, or an authentication server function (AUSF) entity.
14 . The UE of claim 11 , wherein the user consent for the subscribed event information is received from a user of the UE.
15 . The UE of claim 11 , wherein the controller is further configured to provide, to a serving network, the user consent based on an indication received from a home network.
16 . The UE of claim 11 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
identify a UE configuration update (UPU) procedure in which a UE configuration is updated by the network entity the UPU procedure instructing the UE to initiate a registration procedure, wherein an access and mobility management (AMF) entity transmits, to the UE, an indication indicating an initiation of the registration procedure; and
trigger the UPU procedure for sending the user consent to the network entity when a user of the UE changes the user consent.
