Credential storage and selection of credentials for non-public network
This disclosure related to the aspects of 5G system that supports Public Land Mobile Network and Non-Pubic Network especially in the context of how the UE ( 110 ) can handle multiple subscriptions when connecting to a Non-Public Network.
1 . A User Equipment (UE) that has multiple Universal Subscriber Identity Modules (USIM)s, the UE comprising:
a memory configured to store instructions; and
a processor configured to execute the instructions to:
handle multiple subscriptions for a Stand-alone Non-Public Network (SNPN);
select the SNPN based on received System Information including a Public Land Mobile Network identifier (PLMN ID) and a Network identifier (NID) for the SNPN;
send, to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), a Registration Request message including a Routing Indicator, wherein the AMF routes to a Unified Data Management (UDM) associated with the SNPN based on the Routing Indicator; and
access the SNPN using credentials, the credentials being owned by a credentials holder, the credentials holder being separate from both the UDM and the SNPN.
2 . The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the credentials holder is configured to authenticate the UE using the credentials.
3 . The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the UDM manages subscription data of the UE for the SNPN.
4 . The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the credentials holder uses the PLMN ID.
5 . The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the SNPN is a stand-alone 5G system deployed for non-public use.
6 . A method of a User Equipment (UE) that has multiple Universal Subscriber Identity Modules (USIM)s, the method comprising:
handling multiple subscriptions for a Stand-alone Non-Public Network (SNPN);
selecting the SNPN based on received System Information including a Public Land Mobile Network identifier (PLMN ID) and a Network identifier (NID) for the SNPN;
sending, to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), a Registration Request message including a Routing Indicator, wherein the AMF routes to a Unified Data Management (UDM) associated with the SNPN based on the Routing Indicator; and
accessing the SNPN using credentials, the credentials being owned by a credentials holder, the credentials holder being separate from both the UDM and the SNPN.
7 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the credentials holder is configured to authenticate the UE using the credentials.
8 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the UDM manages subscription data of the UE for the SNPN.
9 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the credentials holder uses the PLMN ID.
10 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the SNPN is a stand-alone 5G system deployed for non-public use.
