Abstract

A method and apparatus for handling QoE report in a secondary node in a wireless communication system is provided. An SN transmits, to a UE, a configuration for Quality of Experience (QoE) measurement. The QoE measurement is initiated by an Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) and/or a master node (MN). An SN receives, from the UE, a QoE report based on the configuration. An SN determines whether to forward the QoE report to (i) a Trace Collection Entity (TCE) and/or a Measurement Collection Entity (MCE) and/or (ii) the MN, based on which entity among the OAM and/or the MN initiates the QoE measurement. An SN forwards the QoE report based on the determination.

Claims (39)

1 . A method, comprising,

generating, by a secondary node, a quality of experience (QoE) configuration;

transmitting, by the secondary node to a User Equipment (UE), the QoE configuration,

wherein QoE measurements are initiated by either an Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) or a master node;

receiving, by the secondary node from the UE, a QoE report,

wherein the QoE report via the radio resource control message based on the QoE configuration, and

wherein the QoE report includes (i) a identifier of the UE and (ii) a QoE service type;

determining, by the secondary node, whether the OAM or the master node initiates the QoE measurements, based on the identifier of the UE and the QoE service type;

based on that the QoE measurements are initiated by the OAM:

forwarding, by the secondary node, the QoE report to a Trace Collection Entity (TCE) and a Measurement Collection Entity (MCE);

based on that the QoE measurements are initiated by the master node:

transmitting, by the secondary node to the master node, a transfer message including the QoE report.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the QoE report includes an internet protocol (IP) address of the TCE and the MCE.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the QoE report is forwarded to the TCE and the MCE directly.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the QoE report is received from the UE via a Signalling Radio Bearer (SRB).

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the UE is in communication with at least one of a user equipment, a network, or an autonomous vehicle other than the UE.

6 . A secondary node, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor operatively coupled to the memory, and configured to perform operations, the operations comprising:

generating a quality of experience (QoE) configuration;

transmitting, to a User Equipment (UE), the QoE configuration,

wherein QoE measurements are initiated by either an Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) or a master node;

receiving, from the UE, a QoE report,

wherein the QoE report via the radio resource control message based on the QoE configuration, and

wherein the QoE report includes (i) a identifier of the UE and (ii) a QoE service type;

determining whether the OAM or the master node initiates the QoE measurements, based on the identifier of the UE and the QoE service type;

based on that the QoE measurements are initiated by the OAM:

forwarding the QoE report to a Trace Collection Entity (TCE) and a Measurement Collection Entity (MCE);

based on that the QoE measurements are initiated by the master node:

transmitting, to the master node, a transfer message including the QoE report.

7 . A method, comprising,

receiving, by a wireless device from a secondary node, a quality of experience (QoE) configuration,

wherein the QoE configuration is generated by the secondary node;

wherein QoE measurements are initiated by either an Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) or a master node; and

transmitting, by the wireless device to the secondary node, a QoE report based on the QoE configuration,

wherein the QoE report includes (i) a identifier of the UE and (ii) a QoE service type,

wherein the secondary node determines whether the OAM or the master node initiates the QoE measurements, based on the identifier of the UE and the QoE service type,

wherein, based on that the QoE measurements are initiated by the OAM, the wireless device forwards the QoE report to a Trace Collection Entity (TCE) and a Measurement Collection Entity (MCE) to the secondary node, and

wherein, based on that the QoE measurements are initiated by the master node, the secondary node transmits a transfer message including the QoE report to the master node.
