Abstract

The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods for control signaling and reference signal transmission in wireless networks.

Claims (45)

1 . A method comprising:

processing an information element received from a base station, the information element to include an indication of whether multiplexing based on frequency domain (FD) orthogonal cover codes (OCCs) is disabled; and

monitoring for one or more downlink signals based on the indication of whether multiplexing based on FD-OCCs is disabled.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

detecting, based on said monitoring, a first demodulation reference signal (DMRS) of a first antenna port, the first DMRS to be associated with a first downlink transmission.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

determining, based on whether multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled, whether a second antenna port that is within a code-division multiplexing (CDM) group with the first antenna port is to be used for second DMRS associated with a second downlink transmission.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more downlink signals comprise a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and the method further comprises: receiving the DMRS; and receiving a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission based on receiving the DMRS.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of whether multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled applies to transmissions having subcarrier spacings of 480 kilohertz or 960 kilohertz.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving the information element in a radio resource control (RRC) signal.

7 . An apparatus comprising:

processing circuitry to:

process an information element received from a base station, the information element to include an indication of whether multiplexing based on frequency domain (FD) orthogonal cover codes (OCCs) is disabled; and

monitor for one or more downlink signals based on the indication of whether multiplexing based on FD-OCCs is disabled; and

an interface to couple the processing circuitry to a component of a device.

8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: detect a first demodulation reference signal (DMRS) of a first antenna port, the first DMRS to be associated with a first downlink transmission and determine, based on whether multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled, whether a second antenna port that is within a code-division multiplexing (CDM) group with the first antenna port is to be used for second DMRS associated with a second downlink transmission.

9 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the one or more downlink signals comprise a demodulation reference signal (DMRS).

10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to:

receive the DMRS; and

receive a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission based on receipt of the DMRS.

11 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the indication of whether multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled applies to transmissions having subcarrier spacings of 480 kilohertz or 960 kilohertz.

12 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to:

receive the information element in a radio resource control (RRC) signal.

13 . A method comprising:

generating an information element to include an indication that multiplexing based on frequency domain (FD) orthogonal cover codes (OCCs) is disabled;

generating downlink control information (DCI) format 1_1 or 1_2 with an indication of a value in an antenna port (AP) field, wherein the value is to indicate a demodulation reference signal AP and corresponds to an AP table that is to be used based on FD-CDM being disabled;

generating a first signal to transmit the information element to a user equipment (UE); and

generating a second signal to transmit the DCI format 1_1 or 1_2 to the UE.

14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

mapping one or more downlink signals to resource elements based on whether multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the one or more downlink signals comprise a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) to be transmitted using a first antenna port.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the indication is to indicate multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled, the DMRS is a first DMRS associated with first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission to a first user equipment (UE), and the method further comprises:

refraining, based on multiplexing based on FD OCCs being disabled, from transmitting a second DMRS associated with a second PDSCH transmission to a second UE using a second antenna port that is within a code-division multiplexing (CDM) group with the first antenna port.

17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the indication is to indicate multiplexing based on FD OCCs is not disabled, the DMRS is a first DMRS associated with first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission to a first user equipment (UE), and the method further comprises:

generating, based on multiplexing based on FD OCCs not being disabled, a second DMRS associated with a second PDSCH transmission to a second UE, the second DMRS to be transmitted using a second antenna port that is within a code-division multiplexing (CDM) group with the first antenna port.

18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the indication of whether multiplexing based on FD OCCs is disabled applies to transmissions having subcarrier spacings of 480 kilohertz or 960 kilohertz.

19 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) format 1_1 or 1_2 with an indication of a value in an antenna port (AP) field;

accessing an AP table based on the value to determine a first demodulation reference signal (DMRS) AP, wherein the AP table is to be used based on FD-CDM being disabled for DMRSs having a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of 480 kilohertz (kHz) or 960 kHz; and
