Abstract

A network entity for a mobile telecommunications system, including circuitry configured to perform an admission control of a received connection request to the mobile telecommunications system, wherein the admission control is performed based on a plurality of admission control layers.

Claims (37)

1 . A network entity for a mobile telecommunications system, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

receive a connection request requesting connection to the mobile telecommunications system from a user entity;

perform an admission control of the connection from the user entity, wherein the admission control is performed based on a plurality of admission control layers including a service level layer, a network level layer, and a user level layer, wherein the admission control includes a service level admission control determination by the service level layer based upon a service level criterion, a network level admission control determination by the network level layer based upon a network level criterion, and a user level admission control determination by the user level layer based upon a user level criterion, and wherein the admission control is performed based on a prediction corresponding to at least one of the plurality of admission control layers;

determine an admission condition for the connection from the user entity based on the service level admission control determination, the network level admission control determination, and the user level admission control determination; and

transmit a radio resource control message to the user entity in response to the connection request requesting the connection from the user entity, the radio resource control message including the admission condition for the connection from the user entity determined based on the service level admission control determination, the network level admission control determination, and the user level admission control determination,

wherein the admission condition included in the radio resource control message transmitted in response to the connection request requesting the connection from the user entity includes a timer indicative of a time when the connection from the user entity to the mobile telecommunications system will be accepted.

2 . The network entity according to claim 1 , wherein the service level layer is configured to determine an admission permission or an admission rejection of the connection from the user entity based on a service level agreement.

3 . The network entity according to claim 1 , wherein the network level layer is configured to determine an admission permission or an admission rejection of the connection from the user entity based on a network situation.

4 . The network entity according to claim 1 , wherein the user level layer is configured to determine an admission permission or an admission rejection of the connection from the user entity based on a user requirement.

5 . The network entity according to claim 1 , wherein each of the service level criterion, the network level criterion, and the user level criterion are different.

6 . The network entity according to claim 1 , wherein

the network level admission control determination is distinct from the service level admission control determination, and

the user level admission control determination is distinct from the service level admission control determination and the network level admission control determination.

7 . The network entity according to claim 4 , wherein the determination of the admission permission or the admission rejection of the connection from the user entity in the user level layer is based on network resources.

8 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for abundant network resources for existing and future connections, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity with its on-going services.

9 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for abundant network resources for existing connections, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity for high priority connection requests.

10 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for limited network resources, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity for high priority connection requests demanding low network resources with high probability.

11 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for limited network resources, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity for high priority connection requests demanding high network resources with medium probability.

12 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for limited network resources, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity for low priority connection requests demanding low network resources with medium probability.

13 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for limited network resources, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity for low priority connection requests demanding high network resources with low probability.

14 . The network entity according to claim 7 , wherein for scarce network resources, the user level layer determines the admission permission of the connection from the user entity only for high priority connection requests.

15 . A network entity for a mobile telecommunications system, comprising:

circuitry configured to:

receive a connection request requesting connection to the mobile telecommunications system from a user entity;

perform an admission control of the connection from the user entity, wherein the admission control is performed based on a plurality of outputs of a machine learning algorithm generated for a plurality of admission control layers including a service level layer, a network level layer, and a user level layer, and wherein each of the plurality of outputs of the machine learning algorithm corresponds to one of the plurality of admission control layers including the service level layer, the network level layer, and the user level layer;

determine an admission condition for the connection from the user entity based on the admission control performed based on the plurality of the outputs of the machine learning algorithm; and

transmit a radio resource control message to the user entity in response to the connection request requesting the connection from the user entity, the radio resource control message including the admission condition for the connection from the user entity determined based on the admission control performed based on the plurality of outputs of the machine learning algorithm.

The network entity according to claim 15 , wherein the service level layer is configured to determine an admission permission or an admission rejection of the connection from the user entity based on the corresponding output of the machine learning algorithm generated according to a service level agreement.

The network entity according to claim 15 , wherein the network level layer is configured to determine an admission permission or an admission rejection of the connection from the user entity based on the corresponding output of the machine learning algorithm generated according to a network situation.

The network entity according to claim 15 , wherein the user level layer is configured to determine an admission permission or an admission rejection of the connection from the user entity based on the corresponding output of the machine learning algorithm generated according to a user requirement.

The network entity according to claim 15 , wherein the admission condition included in the radio resource control message transmitted in response to the connection request requesting the connection from the user entity includes a timer indicative of a time when the connection from the user entity to the mobile telecommunications system will be accepted.

20 . A method for a mobile telecommunications system, the method comprising:

receiving a connection request requesting connection to the mobile telecommunications system from a user entity;

performing an admission control of the connection from the user entity, wherein the admission control is performed based on a plurality of outputs of a machine learning algorithm generated for a plurality of admission control layers including a service level layer, a network level layer, and a user level layer, and wherein each of the plurality of outputs of the machine learning algorithm corresponds to one of the plurality of admission control layers including the service level layer, the network level layer, and the user level layer;

determining an admission condition for the connection from the user entity based on the admission control performed based on the plurality of the outputs of the machine learning algorithm; and

transmitting a radio resource control message to the user entity in response to the connection request requesting the connection from the user entity, the radio resource control message including the admission condition for the connection from the user entity determined based on the admission control performed based on the plurality of outputs of the machine learning algorithm.
