Abstract

Disclosed herein is a golf club including a shaft, a club head and several devices for releasably connecting the shaft to the club head.

Claims (17)

1. A golf club comprising a shaft, a club head and a connection system releasably connecting the shaft to the club head, said connection system comprises a three-part hosel, wherein a first hosel part is connected to the shaft, a second hosel sits freely atop the club head, and an anti-rotation device, independent of the first hosel part and the second hosel part, being fixedly coupled to the club head; wherein the first and second hosel parts are rotatable relative to each other;

wherein the anti-rotation device comprises a first serrated surface, and the first hosel part comprises a second corresponding serrated surface; wherein the first and second serrated surfaces mate to minimize relative rotation between the shaft and club head; and

wherein the first serrated surface and the second serrated surface are the only contact surfaces between the first hosel part and the anti-rotation device.

2. The golf club of claim 1 , wherein the first hosel part is fixedly coupled to the shaft.

3. The golf club of claim 2 , wherein the second hosel part is rotatably coupled to the club head.

4. The golf club of claim 1 , wherein the connection system comprises a thread connection.

5. The golf club of claim 4 , wherein the threaded connection comprises multiple threads.

6. The golf club of claim 5 , wherein the thread density is between 12 to 36 threads/inch.

7. The golf club of claim 4 , wherein the thread density is between 18 to 30 threads/inch.

8. The golf club of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the club head is translucent or transparent.

9. The golf club of claim 1 , wherein the anti-rotation device rotatably couples the first hosel part to the second hosel part to connect the shaft and club head.

10. The golf club of claim 9 , wherein the anti-rotation device is at least partially enclosed by the second hosel part.

11. The golf club of claim 10 , wherein the anti-rotation device comprises a second serrated surface, and the first hosel part comprises a first serrated surface; wherein the first and second serrated surfaces mate to minimize relative rotation between the shaft and club head.

12. The golf club of claim 11 , wherein the anti-rotation device protrudes out from a bottom surface of the second hosel part to infix within the golf club head.

13. The golf club of claim 1 , wherein the anti-rotation device rotatably couples with one of the first and second hosel parts and engages a portion of the other of the first and second hosel parts to prevent rotation between the shaft and the club head.

14. The golf club of claim 13 , wherein the anti-rotation device fixedly couples the first hosel part to the second hosel part to connect the shaft and club head.

15. The golf club of claim 14 , wherein the anti-rotation device comprises a first serrated surface, and the first hosel part comprises a second serrated surface; wherein the first and second serrated surfaces mate to minimize relative rotation between the shaft and club head.
