Reagents and methods for inducing an immune response to prostate specific antigen
View Patent ↗The invention is an apparatus and method for the treatment of prostate cancer, and involves administering an antibody that specifically binds with prostate antigen.
1. A method for inducing an immune response comprising administering to a mammal an antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to an epitope of circulating prostate specific antigen, said epitope being the epitope to which a monoclonal antibody produced by a hybridoma that has ATCC Designation Number 1-18-12526 specifically binds.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof is conjugated to an immunogenic carrier.
4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the immunogenic carrier is keyhole limpet hemocyanin.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is selected from a monoclonal antibody, a single chain antibody, and a humanized antibody.
6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof is a xenogenic antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof.
7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof is formulated with an adjuvant.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof is formulated at a dose of from about 0.1 μg to about 2 mg per kilogram of body weight of the mammal.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof is formulated at a dose of from about 1.0 μg to about 200 μg per kilogram of body weight of the mammal.
