Abstract

Antibodies to IL-1-R intracellular ligand proteins are disclosed. The antibodies arc useful for inhibiting the binding between IL-1-R and IL-1-R intracellular ligand proteins.

Claims (10)

1. An isolated antibody which specifically binds to an IL-1-R intracellular ligand protein comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein said antibody specifically binds to an epitope in SEQ ID NO:2.

2. The antibody of claim 1 , wherein said antibody is a neutralizing antibody.

3. The antibody of claim 1 , wherein said antibody blocks binding of IL-1-R to an IL-1-R intracellular ligand protein consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

4. The antibody of claim 1 , wherein said antibody is a polyclonal antibody.

5. The antibody of claim 1 , wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody.

6. The antibody of claim 1 , wherein said antibody is obtained using as an immuniogen an IL-1-R intracellular ligand protein with a cysteine residue at the carboxyl terminus, wherein said protein consists of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.

7. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

8. An isolated, neutralizing antibody that binds specifically to an IL-1-R intracellular ligand protein consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein said neutralizing antibody blocks binding of IL-1-R to said IL-1-R intracellular ligand protein.

9. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody of claim 8 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

10. An isolated antibody which specifically binds to an IL-1-R intracellular ligand protein consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2.
