Abstract

A image reading device is activated by the light interference of a light path. The image reading device comprises at least a image sensing element, a picture and a image changing mechanism such as a picture conveying module, picture rotating module, a hole or a soft button with picture in the inner side. The user may use finger or other objects to interfere the image generated in the image sensing element. By detecting the changes of the image, a predetermined activation process of the image reading device is therefore started.

Claims (58)

1. An image reading device, comprising:

an image sensing unit for sensing an image of a picture and generating signals;

a first picture for producing a first analog signal by said image sensing unit;

a second picture for producing a second analog signal by said image sensing unit; and

an image switch mechanism for changing positions of said first picture and said second pictures, wherein a predetermined function is activated when said first analog signal is different from said second analog signal.

2. The image reading device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a light source for outputting a light; and

a focusing lens, placed in front of said image sensing unit, for focusing said image of said picture.

3. The image reading device of claim 2 , further comprising a mirror for reflecting said light.

4. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said image sensing unit comprises a charged couple device.

5. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said image sensing unit comprises a contact image sensor.

6. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said first picture and said second picture are composed of different patterns.

7. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said first picture includes a single line pattern and said second picture includes a double line pattern.

8. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said first picture and said second picture comprise different colors.

9. The image reading device of claim 8 , wherein the color of said first picture is black and the color of said second picture is white.

10. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said image switch mechanism is capable of shifting said first picture and said second picture in parallel.

11. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said image switch mechanism is capable of rotating said first picture and said second picture.

12. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said predetermined function comprises a scanning process.

13. The image reading device of claim 1 , wherein said predetermined function comprises an activation of application software.

14. An image reading device, comprising:

an image sensing unit for sensing an image of a picture and generating image signals;

a picture for producing an analog signal by said image sensing unit; and

an image switch mechanism for changing a position of said picture,

wherein a predetermined function is activated when said analog signal is changed.

15. The image reading device of claim 14 , further comprising: a light source for outputting a light; and a focusing lens, placed in front of said image sensing unit, for focusing said image of said picture.

16. The image reading device of claim 15 , further comprising a mirror for reflecting said light.

17. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein said image sensing unit comprises a charge-coupled device.

18. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein said image sensing unit comprises a contact image sensor.

19. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein said picture includes a plurality of parallel lines.

20. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein said image switch mechanism is capable of moving said picture in a direction parallel to a light path.

21. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein said predetermined function comprises a scanning process.

22. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein said predetermined function comprises an activation of application software.

23. The image reading device of claim 14 , wherein the clarity of said picture is presented by a modulation transfer function.

24. An image reading device, comprising:

an image sensing unit for sensing an image of a picture and generating image signals; and

a hole for producing an analog signal by said image sensing unit,

wherein a predetermined function is activated when said analog signal is changed due to the concealed hole.

25. The image reading device of claim 24 , further comprising:

a light source for outputting a light; and

a focusing lens, placed in front of said image sensing unit, for focusing said image of said picture.

26. The image reading device of claim 25 , further comprising a mirror for reflecting said light.

27. The image reading device of claim 24 , wherein said image sensing unit comprises a charge-coupled device.

28. The image reading device of claim 24 , wherein said image sensing unit comprises a contact image sensor.

29. The image reading device of claim 24 , wherein said hole is covered to change said analog signal.

30. The image reading device of claim 24 , wherein said predetermined function comprising a scanning process.
