Abstract

The system, method, and article of manufacture of the present invention allow for recording an on-line meeting (also referred to as an “on-line conference”) and saving the recording as a meeting recording file. Additionally, the saved meeting recording file may be played back and/or edited. Moreover, a user may open a meeting recording file during an on-line meeting, and all attendees of the on-line meting can see, as well as hear, the recording content.

11. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein a selected channel comprises video.

12. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the computer programs further comprise computer instructions for:

sharing the meeting recording file at another on-line meeting.

13. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the user input comprises user keyboard inputs.

14. The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the user input comprises user mouse movements.

15. A method for sharing a document, the method comprising:

capturing user input and application output during an on-line meeting;

storing the captured user input and application output in a meeting recording file;

generating one or more key frames from the stored user input and application output; and

broadcasting the generated key frames.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the computer is a presenter client computer and the method further comprising:

one or more attendee client computers connected to the presenter client computer 15 via a computer network; and

at the attendee client computers,

capturing the broadcast key frames; and

storing the broadcast key frames in a meeting recording file.

17. The method of claim 15 , further comprising:

sharing an application during the on-line meeting.

18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising:

broadcasting the key frames when sharing an application.

19. The method of claim 17 , further comprising:

terminating sharing of the application; and

ceasing to broadcast key frames.

20. The method of claim 17 , wherein the computer is a presenter client computer and the method further comprising:

one or more attendee client computers connected to the presenter client computer via a computer network; and

at the attendee client computers,

capturing the broadcast key frames while the application is being shared; and

storing the broadcast key frames in a meeting recording file.

21. The method of claim 15 , further comprising:

editing the meeting recording file.

22. The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

creating a new segment in the meeting recording file by selecting a set of key frames.

23. The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

manipulating one or more channels of the meeting recording file.

24. The method of claim 23 , wherein a selected channel comprises audio.

25. The method of claim 23 , wherein a selected channel comprises video.
