Abstract

A coated article including a coating supported by a glass substrate is provided. In certain example embodiments, the coating includes from the glass substrate outwardly a first dielectric layer(s), an infrared (IR) reflecting layer (e.g., Ag), NiCrO X layer, at least one dielectric layer including silicon nitride and/or tin oxide, another IR reflecting layer (e.g., Ag), and at least another dielectric layer including silicon nitride and/or tin oxide.

Claims (29)

1. A coated article including a coating supported by a glass substrate, the coating comprising from the glass substrate outwardly:

a first dielectric layer comprising tin oxide;

a layer comprising titanium oxide;

a first layer comprising Ag;

a first layer comprising an oxide of NiCr provided over and contacting the layer comprising Ag;

another layer comprising a tin oxide;

a layer comprising silicon nitride;

a layer comprising tin oxide;

another layer comprising titanium oxide;

a second layer comprising Ag provided over and contacting the another layer comprising the titanium oxide;

a second layer comprising an oxide of NiCr provided over and contacting the second layer comprising Ag;

a layer comprising a tin oxide; and

a layer comprising silicon nitride.

2. The coated article of claim 1 , wherein the coated article comprises a vehicle windshield.

3. The coated article of claim 1 , wherein the coated article has a haze value of less than 0.4, in accordance with ASTM D1003-61.

4. A heat treated coated article including a coating supported by a glass substrate, the coating comprising from the glass substrate outwardly:

a first layer comprising tin oxide and a second layer comprising an oxide of titanium;

a first layer comprising Ag;

a first layer comprising an oxide of NiCr provided over and contacting the layer comprising Ag;

a layer comprising tin oxide, wherein no metallic layer or metallic layer portion is provided between the first layer comprising the oxide of NiCr and the layer comprising tin oxide;

a layer comprising titanium oxide;

a second layer comprising Ag provided over the layer comprising titanium oxide;

a second layer comprising an oxide of NiCr provided over and contacting the second layer comprising Ag;

a layer comprising tin oxide provided over and contacting the second layer comprising an oxide of NiCr;

a layer comprising silicon nitride provided over and contacting the layer comprising tin oxide that is provided over and contacting the second layer comprising an oxide of NiCr; and

wherein the coated article has a visible transmission of greater than 70%.

5. The coated article of claim 4 , wherein the coated article has a haze value of less than 0.4, in accordance with ASTM D1003-61.

6. The coated article of claim 1 , wherein the coated article is heat treated.

7. The coated article of claim 1 , wherein the coated article is heat treated and has a visible transmission of greater than 70%.
