Abstract

Described herein are isolated polynucleotides which code for a family of AMPA-type human CNS receptors. The receptors are characterized structurally and the construction and use of cell lines expressing these receptors are disclosed.

Claims (5)

1. A human GluR3A receptor subunit or a human GluR3B receptor subunit, wherein the GluR3A receptor subunit and the GluR3B receptor subunit are in a form essentially free from other proteins of human origin.

2. The human GluR3A receptor subunit according to claim 1 .

3. The human GluR3B receptor subunit according to claim 1 .

4. An immunogenic fragment of a human GluR3B receptor subunit, wherein the immunogenic fragment is selected from the group consisting of residues 178–193, residues 479–522, residues 594–603, and residues 817–866.

5. An immunogenic fragment of a human GluR3A receptor subunit, wherein the immunogenic fragment is selected from the group consisting of residues 178–193, residues 479–522, residues 594–603 and residues 817–866.
