Abstract

A method, system and apparatus for performing peritoneal dialysis are provided. To this end, in part, a device for organizing a number of tubes extending from a unit of a medical fluid system is provided. The organizing device includes a body having a number of openings that each can removably receive an end of one of the number of tubes.

Claims (23)

1. A device for organizing a plurality of tubes extending from a disposable unit of a medical fluid system comprising:

a body including a plurality of openings that each can removably receive an end of one of the plurality of tubes fluidly coupled to the disposable unit, the body including:

a first receiving opening having a priming device, the first receiving opening configured to removably receive a first connector secured to a first tube and the priming device is a hydrophobic membrane configured to vent air within the first tube; and

a second receiving opening, the second receiving opening configured to removably receive a second connector secured to a second tube, wherein the first connector is different then the second connector.

2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the openings are arranged to receive at least the first and second tubes according to a sequence of steps in a medical therapy.

3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the openings are so constructed and arranged so as to secure in order, a drain tube, at least one supply bag tube and a patient tube.

4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the body is constructed from plastic.

5. The device of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first and second opening openings is designed to receive one of the first and second connectors connectable fluidly to a supply bag tube.

6. The device of claim 1 , wherein one of the first and second openings is designed to receive one of the first and second connectors connectable fluidly to a drain line tube.

7. The device of claim 1 , wherein one of the first and second openings is designed to receive one of the first and second connectors connectable fluidly to a patient line tube.

8. The device of claim 1 , wherein the body includes a portion that slideably engages a medical treatment enclosure.

9. The device of claim 1 , wherein the body is tapered to provide an end designated to initially engage a medical treatment enclosure.

10. The device of claim 1 , wherein the body includes a portion that vertically engages a medical treatment enclosure.

11. The device of claim 1 , wherein the body is integrally coupled to the disposable unit to define a fluid connection.

12. A medical tubing organizer for a drain tube, at least one supply bag tube and patient fluid tube fluidly coupled to a disposable unit of a dialysis system, the medical tubing organizer comprising:

a body configured to be carried along an external surface of the dialysis system;

a first tip protector provided by the body, the first tip protector providing an opening that can removably secure a drain line connector attached to the drain tube;

at least two second tip protectors provided by the body, the second tip protectors providing an opening that can removably secure a supply bag connector attached to the supply bag tube; and

a third tip protector provided by the body, the third tip protector providing an opening that can removably secure a patient fluid connector attached to the patient fluid tube;

wherein at least two of the first, second and third tip protectors are configured to preclude interchangeability therewith, and wherein the at least two of the second tip protectors are configured to be interchangeable.

13. The organizer of claim 12 , wherein the tip protectors are arranged in the body according to a sequence of steps in a peritoneal dialysis therapy.

14. The organizer of claim 12 , wherein the body includes a portion that attaches to a peritoneal dialysis enclosure.

15. The organizer of claim 12 , wherein the body is removably carried by a mounting member provided on the dialysis system.
