Abstract

A storage device for a shaving razor replacement cartridge package, including a base member having at least one package-receiving storage region, and one or more covered packages that are each located in a respective storage region. The covered package contains a shaving cartridge including a plastic housing and a plurality of blades. The storage region preferably provides a retention force, e.g., by opposed members, to retain a respective package within the compartment with a retention force. The retention force is preferably determined so that is less than an opening force needed to initiate opening of a removable cover seated on the stored package. The storage device can include shaving razor engagement structure for carrying a razor generally aligned with the base member.

Claims (30)

1. A covered package storage device comprising

a base member having a plurality of package-receiving storage regions, and

a plurality of covered packages that are each located in a respective package-receiving storage region,

each said covered package having an entrance that has been covered with a removable cover at a surface defining a rim surrounding said entrance, each said covered package containing a stored unit therein comprising a shaving cartridge including a plastic housing and a plurality of blades, said cover being openable from said rim surface upon the application of an opening force greater than a predetermined opening force value,

each said package-receiving storage region providing a retention force to retain a respective said package within said package-receiving storage region,

said retention force being less than said predetermined opening force value,

wherein said base member is formed of plastic and has a side wall, and

wherein said base member has dividers formed in said storage regions to border said storage regions along with said side wall, each said divider having a free end and a base portion.

2. A covered package storage device comprising

a base member having at least one package-receiving storage region, and

one or more covered packages that are each located in a respective package-receiving storage region,

each said covered package having an entrance that has been covered with a removable cover at a surface defining a rim surrounding said entrance, each said covered package containing a stored unit therein comprising a shaving cartridge including a plastic housing and a plurality of blades, said cover being openable from said rim surface upon the application of an opening force greater than a predetermined opening force value,

each said package-receiving storage region providing a retention force to retain a respective said package within said package-receiving storage region, said retention force being less than said predetermined opening force value, wherein said base member has a drainage opening within said storage region.

3. The storage device of claims 1 or 2 , wherein said covered package is airtight.

4. The storage device of claims 1 or 2 , wherein said covered package defines a moisture barrier to protect said cartridge inside said package.

5. The storage device of claims 1 or 2 , wherein said covered package defines a water barrier to protect said cartridge inside said package.

6. The storage device of claims 1 or 2 , wherein said base member comprises a surface-mounting structure.

7. The storage device of claims 1 or 2 , wherein said base member comprises a wall mounting structure.

8. The storage device of claims 1 or 2 , further comprising a razor handle engagement structure that is outwardly facing away from said base member.

9. The storage device of claim 8 , wherein said razor handle engagement structure supports a razor handle aligned with a major longitudinal axis of said storage device.

10. The storage device of claim 8 in combination with a razor having a handle, said handle being engaged with said engagement structure.

11. A covered package storage device comprising

a base member having at least one package-receiving storage region;

one or more covered packages that are each located in a respective package-receiving storage region,

each said covered package having an entrance that has been covered with a removable cover at a surface defining a rim surrounding said entrance, each said covered package containing a stored unit therein comprising a shaving cartridge including a plastic housing and a plurality of blades, said cover being openable from said rim surface upon the application of an opening force greater than a predetermined opening force value,

each said package-receiving storage region providing a retention force to retain a respective said package within said package-receiving storage region,

said retention force being less than said predetermined opening force value; and

a razor handle engagement structure that is outwardly facing away from said base member.

12. The storage device of claim 11 , wherein said razor handle engagement structure supports a razor handle aligned with a major longitudinal axis of said storage device.

13. The storage device of claim 12 in combination with a razor having a handle, said handle being engaged with said engagement structure.
