Abstract

A method of making a medical device includes compressing a prosthesis, e.g., a therapeutic agent-carrying stent or stent-graft, to a catheter without contacting an outer surface of the prosthesis, e.g., by electromagnetically compressing the prosthesis.

Claims (8)

1. A method of making a medical device, the method comprising:

securing a medical balloon to a catheter; and

subsequently securing a marker band under the balloon to the catheter.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the band is secured to the catheter without mechanically contacting the band.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the band is secured to the catheter electromagnetically.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the band is visible by magnetic resonance imaging.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the band is formed of a material having dysprosium or gadolinium.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the band is formed of a material selected from the group consisting of gold, platinum, tungsten, and tantalum.
