wherein the ATM instructions include at least one markup language document,

wherein the at least one markup language document includes embedded transaction function script instructions,

wherein the transaction function script instructions when delivered to the ATM cause the ATM to operate at least one transaction function device in carrying out at least one transaction function,

wherein the transaction function script instructions are associated with operation of the ATM in carrying out a transaction including operation of the cash dispenser,

wherein the at least one markup language document includes content instructions corresponding to content which is capable of being output through the at least one display device of the ATM,

wherein the content instructions differ from the transaction function script instructions,

wherein the ATM instructions are operative to only allow content that corresponds to a geographic location of the ATM to be output through the at least one display device of the ATM.

2. An article bearing instructions executable by at least one computer, comprising:

server instructions including at least one ATM application,

wherein the at least one ATM application when accessed remotely by an ATM including a cash dispenser and at least one display device, is operative to cause to be delivered to the ATM, ATM instructions including at least one markup language document,

wherein the at least one markup language document includes content instructions corresponding to content to be output through the at least one display device of the ATM,

wherein the at least one markup language document includes embedded transaction function script instructions operative to cause the ATM to operate at least one transaction function device in carrying out at least one transaction function,

wherein the transaction function script instructions are associated with operation of the ATM in carrying out a transaction including operation of the cash dispenser,

wherein the transaction function script instructions differ from the content instructions,

wherein the server instructions are operative to cause the at least one computer to cause at least one charge to be assessed to at least one entity associated with the ATM for use of the at least one ATM application.

3. The article according to claim 2 wherein the server instructions are operative to cause the ATM instructions to be delivered to the ATM on a temporary basis during a time which the entity associated with the ATM has paid for use of the at least one ATM application.

4. The article according to claim 2 wherein the server instructions are operative to cause the at least one computer to cause the at least one charge to be assessed to an entity owning the ATM.

5. The article according to claim 2 wherein the server instructions are operative to cause the at least one computer to cause the at least one charge to be assessed to a consumer using the ATM.

6. The article according to claim 2 wherein the server instructions are operative to cause the at least one computer to cause a first charge to be assessed to a first entity associated with the ATM, and to cause a second charge to be assessed to a second entity associated with the ATM.

7. The article according to claim 6 wherein the first entity is an owner of the ATM.

8. The article according to claim 7 wherein the second entity is a consumer using the ATM.

9. The article according to claim 8 wherein the server instructions are further operative to cause at least a portion of the second charge to be credited to a third entity associated with the ATM.

10. The article according to claim 2 wherein the at least one computer comprises a server, and wherein the instructions executable by the at least one computer comprise server software.

11. The article according to claim 2 wherein the transaction function script instructions are operative to cause the ATM to operate a deposit accepting device, and wherein the at least one transaction function includes accepting an item for deposit in the ATM.

12. The article according to claim 2 wherein the transaction function script instructions are operative to cause the ATM to operate a check receiving device, and wherein the at least one transaction function includes receiving a check in the ATM.

13. The article according to claim 2 wherein the at least one transaction function includes dispensing pay to a person from the ATM.

14. The article according to claim 2 wherein the at least one transaction function includes paying a bill through operation of the ATM.

15. The article according to claim 2 wherein the transaction function script instructions are operative to cause the ATM to operate a ticket dispensing device, and wherein the at least one transaction function includes dispensing tickets from the ATM.

16. The article according to claim 2 wherein the transaction function script instructions are operative to cause the ATM to operate a digital content dispensing device, and wherein the at least one transaction function includes dispensing digital content from the ATM.

17. The article according to claim 2 wherein the at least one transaction function includes providing a digital signature from the ATM.
