Abstract

A photothermographic material including, on one side of a support, an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder, and, on the other side of the support, a non-photosensitive back side layer. The total quantity of an alkaline earth metal contained in the non-photosensitive back side layer is 1×10 −5 mol/m 2 to 1×10 −3 mol/m 2 .

Claims (9)

1. A photothermographic material comprising, on one side of a support, an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder, and, on the other side of the support, non-photosensitive back layers, wherein:

a gelatin is coated on the side having the image forming layer;

a total quantity of gelatin coated on a non-photosensitive back side having the non-photosensitive back layers is 0.5 times to 1.5 times a total quantity of gelatin coated on the side having the image forming layer;

the non-photosensitive back layers comprise two layers, and a content ratio of polymer latex to gelatin is greater in a non-photosensitive back layer closer to the support than in a non-photosensitive back layer further from the support;

at least one of the non-photosensitive back layers contains at least one polymer latex having a glass transition temperature of −10° C. to 120° C.;

a total quantity of polymer latex coated on the non-photosensitive back side is 20 to 40% by mass in relation to the total quantity of gelatin coated on the non-photosensitive back side;

wherein at least one dye that can be discolored by thermal development processing is contained in at least one of the non-photosensitive back layers or a prime coat or under coat layer provided between either of the non-photosensitive back layers and the support.

2. The photothermographic material of claim 1 , wherein the dye is discolorable by a base.

3. The photothermographic material of claim 1 , wherein a coating quantity of gelatin in the non-photosensitive back layer is 0.3 g/m 2 to 0.8 g/m 2 .
