Abstract

A stent has a tubular body with end regions and a middle region. The tubular body has a plurality of openings in it, the number of openings greater in the middle region than in the end regions. The tubular members also comprise an inner component and an outer component, the outer component disposed about the inner component. The inner component comprises a woven braid.

Claims (3)

1. A stent comprising a substantially tubular body, the substantially tubular body having a first end portion, a second end portion and a middle portion therebetween, the substantially tubular body defining a plurality of openings, the substantially tubular body comprising an inner component and an outer component, the outer component disposed at least partially about the inner component, the inner component comprising a woven braid, the plurality of openings being more dense in the middle portion of the substantially tubular body then at the end portions.

2. A catheter comprising a stent disposed thereabout, wherein the stent comprises a substantially tubular body, the substantially tubular body having a first end portion, a second end portion and a middle portion therebetween, the substantially tubular body defining a plurality of openings, the substantially tubular body comprising an inner component and an outer component, the outer component disposed at least partially about the inner component, the inner component comprising a woven braid, the plurality of openings being more dense in the middle of the substantially tubular body then at the end portions.

3. The catheter of claim 2 further comprising at least one retaining member, the at least one retaining member disposed about at least a portion of the stent to maintain the stent in a reduced diameter configuration.
