Abstract

A liquid crystal display of compact size is disclosed. The liquid crystal display has a tape carrier package and a single integrated PCB for processing a gate driving signal and data driving signal. The tape carrier package includes a base substrate, a gate driver IC formed on said base substrate, an input pattern formed on said base substrate that applies gate driving signals input from an external device to the gate driver IC, a first output pattern formed on said base substrate that outputs a first gate driving signal processed in said gate driver IC, and a second output pattern formed on said base substrate, that outputs a second gate driving signal bypassing the gate driver IC among the gate driving signals.

Claims (19)

1. A signal transmission system of display apparatus, comprising:

a data signal transmission pattern that transmits a data signal from a single integrated printed circuit board (PCB) to a data line formed on a display panel; and

a gate signal transmission pattern that transmits a gate signal from the single integrated printed circuit board (PCB) to a gate line formed on the display panel wherein the data signal transmission pattern is formed on a flexile printed circuit (FPC) having a first end coupled with the display panel and a second end coupled with the single integrated printed circuit board (PCB).

2. The signal transmission system of claim 1 , wherein the flexible printed circuit (“FPC”) is electrically connected to the display panel through an anisotropic conductive film.

3. The signal transmission system of claim 1 , wherein the flexible printed circuit (FPC) is electrically connected to the printed circuit board (PCB) through an anisotropic conductive film.

4. The signal transmission system of claim 1 , wherein the gate signal transmission pattern is formed on a flexible printed circuit (FPC) having a first end coupled with the display panel and having a gate driver IC formed thereon.

5. The signal transmission system of claim 4 , wherein the gate signal transmission pattern is electrically coupled with the single integrated printed circuit board (PCB) through a connection wiring formed on the display panel.

6. The signal transmission system of claim 5 , wherein the gate signal transmission pattern comprises:

an input pattern formed on the flexible printed circuit (FPC) and having a first line group and a second line group;

an output pattern formed on the flexible printed circuit (FPC) and electrically connected to the first line group through the gate driver IC; and

a relay pattern formed on the flexible printed circuit (FCP) electrically connected to the second line group.

7. The signal transmission system of claim 6 , wherein the relay pattern is not electrically connected to the gate driver IC.

8. The signal transmission system of claim 7 , wherein the relay pattern is electrically connected to the second line group at a region of a flexible film of the flexible printed circuit, which is opposite to the output pattern with respect to the gate driver IC.

9. The signal transmission system of claim 6 , wherein the relay pattern is electrically connected to the second line group directly.

10. The signal transmission system of claim 5 , wherein the connection wiring is formed at a corner of the display panel.

11. The signal transmission system of claim 4 , wherein the flexible printed circuit is electrically connected to the display panel through an anisotropic conductive film.

12. The data transmission system of claim 1 , wherein the display panel is a liquid crystal display panel.

13. The data transmission system of claim 1 , wherein the gate signal transmission pattern and the data signal transmission pattern are formed on a flexible printed circuit (FPC) board and the gate signal is applied from the gate signal transmission pattern to the gate line through a gate flexible printed circuit.

14. The data transmission system of claim 1 , wherein a gate flexible printed circuit is between the gate signal transmission pattern and the gate line.
