Abstract

Novel splice variants of the human H4 histamine receptor are described. The splice variants have delections of portions of the N-terminal of the wild type H4 receptor. The splice variants are useful in methods for identifying agonists, inverse agonists or antagonists of histamnie action at the H4 receptor.

Claims (8)

1. An isolated polynucleotide encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.

2. An isolated polynucleotide encoding at least 8 contiguous amino acids from SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the sequence of at least 8 contiguous amino acids comprises the alanine residue at position 66 or the proline residue at position 67 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.

3. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 2 , wherein the sequence encoded by the polynucleotide comprises at least 10 contiguous amino acids of the polypeptide.

4. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 3 , wherein the sequence encoded by the polynucleotidecomprises at least 15 contiguous amino acids of the polypeptide.

5. The polynucleotide of claim 1 , having the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1.

6. A recombinant expression vector comprising the polynucleotide of claim 1 .

7. A host cell comprising the recombinant expression vector of claim 6 .

8. An isolated polypeptide having at least 8 contiguous amino acids from SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the sequence of at least 8 contiguous amino acids comprises the alanine residue at position 66 or the proline residue at position 67 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.
