Abstract

Isolated polypeptide sequence having the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or muteins thereof having the ability to bind cAMP and repress the expression of the aceB gene of C. glutamicum and which can be obtained from SEQ ID NO:1 by inserting, deleting or substituting up to 20% of the amino acids.

Claims (13)

1. An isolated polynucleotide molecule encoding a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, or the complement thereof.

2. A method of modulating the expression of aceB in Corynebacteria glutamicum comprising introducing the polynucleotide molecule of claim 1 in Corynebacteria glutamicum.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the method influences the biosynthesis of amino acids.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the method increases the biosynthesis of amino acids.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the amino acid is lysine.

6. A method of producing lysine in a host cell of the genus Corynebacterium glutamicum by influencing the gene expression of at least the aceB gene by modulating the expression of the polynucleotide molecule of claim 1 in said host cell.

7. The isolated polynucleotide molecule of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide binds cAMP.

8. The isolated polynucleotide molecule of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide represses the expression of the aceB gene of Corynebacteria glutamicum.

9. A vector comprising the polynucleotide molecule of claim 1 .

10. The vector of claim 9 , which is an expression vector.

11. An isolated host cell transfected with the expression vector of claim 10 .

12. The host cell of claim 10 , wherein said cell belongs to the genus Corynebacterium.

13. The method of claim 2 , wherein the polynucleotide molecule is introduced by recombinant methods.
