. A method for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an inhibitor of CSF-1 activity to a patient in need thereof.
. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the inhibitor is a nucleic acid.
. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the inhibitor is a small molecule (NCE).
. The method according to claim 12 , wherein the inhibitor is an antibody or a functionally active antibody fragment or derivative.
. The method according to claim 15 , wherein the antibody or antibody fragment is monoclonal, polyclonal, chimeric, humanized or bispecific.
. The method according to claim 15 wherein the antibody fragment is a Fab, Fab′, F(ab′) 2 , scFv or epitope binding fragment.
. The method according to claim 15 wherein the antibody or antibody fragment is conjugated to one or more effector molecule(s).
. The method according to claim 15 wherein the antibody or antibody fragment binds to CSF-1.
. The method according to claim 15 wherein the antibody or antibody fragment binds to CSF-1R.
. The method according to claim 12 wherein the inflammatory bowel disease is Crohn's disease.
. The method according to claim 12 wherein the inflammatory bowel disease is ulcerative colitis.
. The method according to claim 12 wherein the inhibitor of CSF-1 activity is administered in combination with one or more other therapeutically active compounds.
. The method according to claim 23 wherein the other therapeutically active compound is another anti-IBD therapeutic agent.
. The method according to claim 23 wherein the other therapeutically active compound is an anti-cancer therapeutic agent.
