TWAIN network image transmission system and method
A TWAIN network image data transmission system and method are applicable in image data transmission between a host and a versatile business machine. The TWAIN network image data transmission is achieved via a network using HTTP. After the versatile business machine retrieves the image data, an image data hyperlink embedded hypertext is generated. When an image data retrieving command is sent from the host, the hypertext is transmitted to the host via the network and a communication interface with hypertext transport protocol.
1 . A TWAIN network image transmission system, comprising:
a versatile business machine as a server site, including:
an image acquisition module, used to retrieve image data;
a data storage module, storing the image data and obtaining an image data hyperlink address to generate an image data hyperlink embedded hypertext;
a server site TWAIN information management program, receiving an image data retrieving command to transmit the image data hyperlink embedded hypertext; and
a first communication interface with hypertext transmission protocol, transmitting the image data hyperlink embedded document;
a host, receiving the image data, the host including:
a user-site TWAIN data management program, sending the image data retrieving command to the server-site TWAIN data management program, and receiving and displaying the image data hyperlink hypertext;
a second communication interface with hypertext transport protocol, transmitting the image data hyperlink embedded hypertext to the user-site TWAIN data management program;
and
a network, linking the first communication interface of the versatile business machine to the second communication interface of the host.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the image acquisition module retrieves the image data by scanning.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the user-site TWAIN data management program is a data management program with browsing function.
4 . A TWAIN network image transmission method using HTTP and a communication interface with hypertext transport protocol to provide data transmission between a host and a versatile business machine, the steps comprising:
the versatile business machine scanning and saving the image data to retrieve an image data hyperlink address;
the versatile business machine generates an image data hyperlink embedded hypertext;
the host sending an image data retrieving command;
the versatile business machine receiving the image data retrieving command and then transmitting the image data hyperlink embedded hypertext to the host; and
the host displaying the image data hyperlink embedded hypertext, and recognizing its HTML to retrieve the image data.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the versatile business machine retrieves the image data by scanning.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the user-site TWAIN data management program is a data management program with browsing function.
7 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising setting HTML parameters before the versatile business machine generates the image data hyperlink embedded hypertext.
