Antibodies immunologically specific for a DNA repair endonuclease and methods of use thereof
View Patent ↗An isolated nucleic acid molecule encoding a human DNA repair enzyme, MED1, is disclosed. Like other mismatch repair genes which are mutated in certain cancers, MED1, encoding nucleic acids, proteins and antibodies thereto may be used to advantage in genetic or cancer screening assays. MED1, which recognizes and cleaves DNA, may also be used for the diagnostic detection of mutations and genetic variants.
1. An isolated antibody immunologically specific for an human methyl-CpG binding endonuclease 1 (MED1) protein of SEQ ID NO: 2.
2. The antibody as claimed in claim 1 , said antibody being monoclonal.
3. The antibody as claimed in claim 1 , said antibody being polyclonal.
4. An isolated antibody fragment immunologically specific for a methyl-CpG binding endonuclease 1 (MED1) protein of SEQ ID NO: 2, said fragment being selected from the group consisting of Fab fragment, Fv fragment, F(ab′)2 fragment, and single chains Fv fragment.
