Thermal packaging system
View Patent ↗The present invention is an apparatus, method and system to thermally package an item having at least one container substantially filled with an alcohol, wherein said alcohol undergoes a phase change.
1. An apparatus comprising:
at least one container, the container substantially filled with a phase change material, wherein the phase change material is 1-decanol having a purity of about 90% to about 100%; and
a second container having a connector, wherein the first container has a connector coupled to said first container, the first and second containers have a releasable lock coupled to said first and second containers, the releasable lock comprising grooves, and wherein the connectors slidably fit into the grooves;
wherein the apparatus maintains a specimen at about 2° C. to 8° C. during shipping.
2. An apparatus comprising:
at least one container, the container substantially filled with a phase change material, wherein the phase change material is 1-dodecanol having a purity of about 90% to about 100%; and
a second container having a connector, wherein the first container has a connector coupled to said first container, the first and second containers have a releasable lock coupled to said first and second containers, the releasable lock comprising grooves, and wherein the connectors slidably fit into the grooves;
wherein the apparatus maintains a specimen at about 20° C. to 24° C. during shipping.
3. A pharmaceutical product package comprising:
a first container substantially filled with 1-decanol having a purity of about 90% to about 100%, wherein the package maintains the pharmaceutical product at a constant temperature of about 2° C. to 8° C. during shipment;
a second container comprising the pharmaceutical product, the second container having a first side and a second side, wherein the first container is adjacent to the first side of the second container;
a third container housing the first container and the second container; and
a fourth container adjacent to the second side of the second container;
wherein the fourth container is substantially filled with 1-dodecanol having a purity of about 90% to about 100%; the fourth container is housed within the third container; the first container has a connector coupled to said fourth container; the first container and fourth container have a releasable lock coupled to said first container and fourth container, the releasable lock comprising grooves and wherein the connectors slidably fit into the grooves.
