Abstract

A method and system for a thermal architecture and user adjustable keystone in a display device is described. The system includes a screen, a lens to project images, and one or more mirrors to reflect the images projected by the lens to the screen. A mirror assembly to adjust the images projected on the screen includes a first frame to pivot about a first axis, a second frame pivotably mounted in the first frame to pivot about a second axis, and a mirror moveably mounted in the second frame to reflect an image on a screen of a display device. The mirror is adapted to pivot about the first axis and the second axis via the first frame and the second frame to adjust the images on the screen. The base to which the screen is mounted has a thermal architecture that includes a plurality of vents to allow air to flow in and out of the base and an air movement device to move air from one or more heat sources away from the screen and toward the vents.

Claims (19)

1. An apparatus for adjusting keystone comprising:

a first frame to pivot about a first axis;

a second frame pivotably mounted in the first frame to pivot about a second axis; and

a mirror moveably mounted in the second frame to reflect an image on a screen of a display device, the mirror adapted to pivot about the first axis via the first frame and pivot about the second axis via the second frame to adjust the image on the screen to enable user adjustable keystone correction of the image relative the screen.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second axis is substantially perpendicular to the first axis.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a first adjuster coupled to the first frame to adjust the angle of the pivot about the first axis.

4. The apparatus of claim 3 , further comprising a second adjuster coupled to the second frame to adjust the angle of the pivot about the second axis.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the first adjuster and the second adjuster each comprise one or more screws.

6. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the first adjuster and the second adjuster further comprise a knob coupled to each screw to adjust the screw.

7. An apparatus for projecting an image on a screen, the apparatus comprising:

a first frame selectively pivotal about a first axis through a first adjuster;

a second frame selectively pivotal about a second axis through a second adjuster;

a mirror to reflect an image to the screen, the mirror moveably mounted to the second frame and adapted to pivot about the first axis and the second axis, wherein a user may selectively position the image on the screen through use of the first adjuster and the second adjuster.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the second axis is substantially perpendicular to the first axis.

9. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the first frame is moveable relative the second frame.

10. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the first adjuster is configured to enable adjustment of the image upward about the first axis.

11. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the first adjuster is configured to enable adjustment of the image downward about the first axis.

12. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the second adjuster is configured to enable adjustment of the image to the right about the second axis.

13. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the second adjuster is configured to enable adjustment of the image to the left about the second axis.
