View Patent ↗The present invention is generally directed to electroluminescent Ir(III) compounds, the substituted 2-phenylpyridines, phenylpyrimidines, and phenylquinolines that are used to make the Ir(III) compounds, and devices that are made with the Ir(III) compounds.
1. An electronic device comprising an organic layer comprising at least one Ir(III) compound made from precursor compounds having a structure set forth below:
2. An electronic device comprising a light emitting layer comprising at least one Ir(III) compound made from precursor compounds having the structure set forth in claim 1 .
3. An electronic device comprising a charge transport layer comprising at least one Ir(III) compound made from precursor compounds having the structure set forth in claim 1 .
4. An electronic device comprising an organic layer comprising at least one Ir(III) compound made from precursor compounds having the following structure:
5. The device of claim 4 , wherein the organic layer is a light-emitting layer.
6. The device of claim 4 , wherein the organic layer is a charge transport layer.
