Abstract

The present invention is generally directed to electroluminescent Ir(III) compounds, the substituted 2-phenylpyridines, phenylpyrimidines, and phenylquinolines that are used to make the Ir(III) compounds, and devices that are made with the Ir(III) compounds.

Claims (4)

1. A compound having the formula:

2. An electronic device comprising an organic layer comprising at least one compound having the formula set forth in claim 1 .

3. An electronic device comprising a light emitting layer comprising at least one compound having the formula set forth in claim 1 .

4. An electronic device comprising a charge transport layer comprising at least one compound having the formula set forth in claim 1 .
