Abstract

The positioning of the actuating drive in a fuel injector with a piezoactor ( 2 ) that is screwed into the housing ( 1 ) of the fuel injector is performed by applying a voltage (U) to the piezoactor ( 2 ) that corresponds to a given idle stroke (h), and the surface grinding of the housing ( 3 ) and base plate ( 4 ) of the piezoactor ( 2 ) when voltage is applied. Between the housing ( 1 ) of the fuel injector and the housing ( 3 ) of the piezoactor ( 2 ), there is also provided a compensation collar ( 9 ) of a suitable thickness.

Claims (20)

1. A method for producing a compensation collar for an injection valve, comprising the steps of

providing the injection valve without an insertable piezoactor;

inserting the compensation collar having a thickness into said injection valve; and

plastically deforming the compensation collar to a presettable thickness by inserting a prestressing device into the injection valve,

removing said prestressing device; and

inserting a piezoactor.

2. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the compensation collar consists of a flowable material, and the material of the compensation collar begins to flow during the compression and is thereby permanently plastically deformed.

3. A method according to claim 1 , wherein the compensation collar is made of soft iron or soft copper.

4. A method for producing a compensation collar for an injection valve, comprising the steps of

providing the injection valve without an insertable piezoactor;

inserting the compensation collar having a thickness into said injection valve; and

plastically deforming the compensation collar to a presettable thickness by inserting a prestressing device into the injection valve wherein the prestressing device is inserted so far into said injection valve to force said compensation collar to a thickness at which a base plate of the prestressing device causes an opening of a servo valve of said injection valve.

5. A method according to claim 4 , further comprising the steps of:

removing said prestressing device; and

inserting a piezoactor.

6. A method according to claim 5 , wherein said step of inserting said piezoactor comprises the step of screwing in of said piezoactor.

7. A method for producing a compensation collar for an injection valve, comprising the steps of

providing the injection valve without an insertable piezoactor;

inserting the compensation collar having a thickness into said injection valve; and

plastically deforming the compensation collar to a presettable thickness by inserting a prestressing device into the injection valve wherein said step of inserting said prestressing device comprises the step of screwing in of said prestressing device; removing said prestressing device; and inserting a piezoactor.
