Abstract

A printing fluid dispenser including: a deformable container containing a full complement of printing fluid; a housing including a base slidingly engaging a plunger and locating the deformable container; and an outlet coupled to the deformable container and arranged to convey the printing fluid to a point external to the housing; wherein the first and second portions include mated features arranged to prevent motion of said portions relative to each other until a predetermined level of operative force is applied across said portions.

Claims (6)

1. A printing fluid dispenser comprising:

a base defining a reservoir of printing fluid and an outlet for establishing fluid communication between the reservoir and the dispenser exterior; and,

a plunger for telescopically engaging the base in order to compress the reservoir; wherein,

the base and the plunger have complementary features that mate together to prevent relative movement of the plunger and the base until a threshold force is manually applied to the plunger to disengage the complementary features and allow the plunger to move relative to the base when a dispensing force is manually applied to the plunger such that printing fluid is dispensed from the outlet, the dispensing force being substantially less than the threshold force.

2. A printing fluid dispenser according to claim 1 , wherein the reservoir comprises a deformable container.

3. A printing fluid dispenser according to claim 1 , wherein the complementary features comprise one or more complementary protrusions formed into opposing walls of the base and plunger.
