alternating between said doses for no more than 90 days; and

wherein the improvement comprises greater muscle strength, endurance, speed, or a combination thereof in the athlete during physical activity compared to a human athlete during physical activity who is not administered the effective amount of galanthamine.

5. A method for improving the effectiveness of muscle performance in a human athlete in need thereof, comprising administering to the athlete an amount of a daily dietary supplement effective for increasing muscle resistance to fatigue, said supplement comprising:

an effective amount of galanthamine;

an effective amount of Co-Q10;

an effective amount of B vitamins;

an effective amount of non-essential amino acids; and

an effective amount of antioxidants;

wherein the galanthamine is present as a whole plant extract from Leucojum aestivum and is administered in a daily dose of from about 2 mg to 15 mg, for at least 3 weeks but for no more than 90 days and wherein the improvement comprises greater muscle strength, endurance, speed, or a combination thereof in the athlete during physical activity compared to a human athlete during physical activity who is not administered the effective amount of galanthamine.

6. The method of claim 5 wherein the galanthamine is administered at least one hour before participation in an athletic activity.
