Abstract

The present invention relates to novel compounds useful as electronic hole transport materials, and to compositions and electronic devices comprising at least one layer containing the compositions.

Claims (15)

1. A compound having the formula

wherein E is selected from O, S, and (SiR 1 R 2 ) m wherein m is an integer of 1 to 20 wherein R 1 and R 2 are each independently selected from H, F, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, fluoroalkyl, fluoroaryl, fluoroalkoxy and fluoroaryloxy.

2. A composition comprising a compound of claim 1 .

3. An electronic device comprising at least one layer comprising the compound of claim 1 .

4. The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the electronic device is selected from a light-emitting diode, a light-emitting diode display, a laser diode, a photodetector, photoconductive cell, photoresistor, photoswitch, phototransistor, phototube, IR-detector, photovoltaic device, solar cell, light sensor, photoconductor, electrophotographic device, transistor, and diode.

5. A compound having the formula:

6. A composition comprising a compound of claim 5 .

7. An electronic device comprising at least one layer comprising the compound of claim 5 .

An electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the electronic device is selected from a light-emitting diode, a light-emitting diode display, a laser diode, a photodetector, photoconductive cell, photoresistor, photoswitch, phototransistor, phototube, IR-detector, photovoltaic device, solar cell, light sensor, photoconductor, electrophotographic device, transistor, and diode.

9. A compound having the formula:

11. An electronic device comprising the compound of claim 9 .

The electronic device of claim 11 , wherein the electronic device is selected from a light-emitting diode, a light-emitting diode display, a laser diode, a photodetector, photoconductive cell, photoresistor, photoswitch, phototransistor, phototube, IR-detector, photovoltaic device, solar cell, light sensor, photoconductor, electrophotographic device, transistor, and diode.

13. A compound having the formula

wherein E is selected from (CR 1 R 2 ) m wherein m is an integer of 1 to 20, wherein R 1 and R 2 are each independently F, alkoxy, aryloxy, fluoroalkoxy, and fluoroaryloxy.
