Information management apparatus
View Patent ↗An information management apparatus capable of reliable management of distributed information and an information providing system employing the same information management apparatus has a main information reproducing system for reproducing main information recorded in a given recording medium; and a reproduction management system for managing the main information reproducing system for reproducing the main information. A receiver is provided with a unit for recording distributed information and control information limiting the number of main information reproducing cycles on a recording medium, and a main information reproducing system provided with a reproduction disabling function for limiting the reproduction of main information.
1. An information management apparatus comprising:
a receiver which receives main information;
a recorder which records said main information on a recording medium;
a main information reproducer which reproduces said main information on said recording medium; and
a reproduction management means for managing said main information reproducer,
wherein said reproduction management means is provided with a reproduction disabling means for disabling operation of said main information reproducer, and
wherein said reproduction disabling means comprises:
decision means for deciding whether the reproduction disabling function of said reproduction disabling means is normal, and
a reproduction start refusing means for refusing a reproduction start command requesting start of an operation for reproducing said main information by said main information reproducer, when said decision means decides that the reproduction disabling function of said reproduction disabling means is abnormal.
2. An information management apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said reproduction disabling means erases at least a portion of the main information recorded on said recording medium.
3. An information management apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said reproduction disabling means rewrites other information over at least a portion of the main information recorded on said recording medium.
4. An information management apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said reproduction disabling means disables the main information, recorded on the recording medium, within a predetermined time after said main information reproducer reproduces the transmitted signal.
