Abstract

Methods and/or systems relating to mote networks having one or more mote-addressed content indexes. A part of an aggregate of one or more mote-addressed content indexes is transmitted from a first set of motes.

Claims (86)

1. A method comprising:

receiving a multi-mote index creation agent at a second mote of a first set of motes administered by a first network administrator from a first mote of the first set of motes over a mote network after the first and second motes are deployed in the mote network, the multi-mote index creation agent including:

1) instructions to install at least a portion of the received multi-mote index creation agent on the second mote,

2) instructions that configure the second mote to receive at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes from at least one other mote of the first set of motes, and

3) instructions that configure the second mote to aggregate at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes received from the at least one other mote of the first set of motes, forming an aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes; and

transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes to an aggregator configured to store (i) the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes from the first set of motes administered by the first network administrator and (ii) one or more mote-addressed content indexes from a second set of motes administered by a second network administrator.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes further comprises:

transmitting at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mote-addressed sensing index or the mote-addressed control index indicates availability of information at a sensing device, a format of information obtained from the sensing device, or a format of commands to query the sensing device.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index further comprises:

transmitting query data indicating a query command format of a sensing device and transmitting output format data indicating an output format of information of the sensing device.

5. The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index further comprises:

transmitting data indicating a query command format of a sensing device coupled with at least one of the first set of motes or transmitting data indicating an output format of information of the sensing device.

6. The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index further comprises:

transmitting control command format data indicating a control command format of a sensing device and transmitting feedback format data indicating a feedback format of information of the sensing device.

7. The method of claim 2 , wherein transmitting at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index further comprises:

transmitting control command format data indicating a control command format of a sensing device coupled with at least one of the first set of motes or transmitting a feedback format data indicating feedback format of information of the sensing device.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein said transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes further comprises:

transmitting at least a part of a mote-addressed routing index or a mote-addressed spatial index.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein said transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes further comprises:

obtaining access to the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes, wherein the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes comprises addresses of a plurality of motes in the first set of motes.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein said transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes:

is performed in response to a schedule.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the transmitting in response to a schedule further comprises:

receiving the schedule.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the transmitting in response to a schedule further comprises:

deriving the schedule.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the transmitting in response to a schedule further comprises:

deriving the schedule at least in part from at least one of multiple optimized queries or multiple stored queries.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein said transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes further comprises:

transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes in response to multiple queries.

15. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

encrypting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes utilizing at least one of a private key or a public key.

16. The method of claim 1 , wherein said transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes further comprises:

decoding at least a part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes utilizing at least one of a public key or a private key.

17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitted aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes excludes mote-addressed content of the first set of motes.

18. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mote-addressed content index of the first set of motes includes data that indicates availability of a light device entity, an electrical device entity, a pressure device entity, a temperature device entity, a volume device entity, an inertial device entity, or an antenna entity.

19. A system comprising:

a receiver device coupled with a first mote of a first set of motes administered by a first network administrator, configured to receive a multi-mote index creation agent from a second mote of the first set of motes over a mote network after the first and second motes are deployed in the mote network, the multi-mote index creation agent including:

1) instructions to install at least a portion of the received multi-mote index creation agent on the first mote,

2) instructions that configure the first mote to receive at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes from at least one other mote of the first set of motes, and

3) instructions that configure the first mote to aggregate at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes received from the at least one other mote of the first set of motes, forming an aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes; and

a transmitting device coupled with the first mote configured to transmit at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes to an aggregator configured to store (i) a first set the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes from the first set of motes administered by the first network administrator and (ii) one or more mote-addressed content indexes from a second set of motes administered by a second network administrator.

20. The system of claim 19 , wherein the transmitting device is further configured to

transmit at least a part of a mote-addressed routing index or a mote-addressed spatial index.

21. The system of claim 19 , further comprising:

a reporting entity obtaining access to the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes.

22. The system of claim 19 , wherein the transmitting device is further configured

to transmit at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes in response to a schedule.

23. The system of claim 22 , wherein

the transmitting device is further configured to receive the schedule.

24. The system of claim 22 , wherein

the transmitting device is further configured to derive the schedule.

25. The system of claim 22 , wherein

the transmitting device is further configured to derive the schedule at least in part from at least one of multiple optimized queries or multiple stored queries.

26. The system of claim 19 ,

wherein the transmitting device is further configured to transmit in response to multiple queries.

27. The system of claim 19 , wherein the transmitting device

is further configured to encrypt at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes utilizing at least one of a private key or a public key.

28. The system of claim 19 , wherein the transmitting device

is further configured to decode at least a part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes utilizing at least one of a public key or a private key.

29. The system of claim 19 , wherein the transmitted aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes excludes mote-addressed content of the first set of motes.

30. The system of claim 19 , wherein the mote-addressed content index of the first set of motes indicates availability of information a sensing device, a format of information obtained from the device, or a format of commands to query the sensing device.

31. The system of claim 19 , wherein the mote-addressed content index of the first set of motes indicates availability of a light device entity, an electrical device entity, a pressure device entity, a temperature device entity, a volume device entity, an inertial device entity, or an antenna entity.

32. A system comprising:

a first mote of a first set of motes; and

means for receiving a multi-mote index creation agent at a second mote of the first set of motes administered by a first network administrator from the first mote of the first set of motes over a mote network after the first and second motes are deployed in the mote network, the multi-mote index creation agent including:

1) instructions to install at least a portion of the received multi-mote index creation agent on the second mote,

2) instructions that configure the second mote to receive at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes from at least one other mote of the first set of motes, and

3) instructions that configure the second mote to aggregate at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes received from the at least one other mote of the first set of motes, forming an aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes; and

means for transmitting at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes to an aggregator configured to store (i) the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes from the first set of motes administered by the first network administrator and (ii) one or more mote-addressed content indexes from a second set of motes administered by a second network administrator, the transmitted aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes excluding mote-addressed content of the first set of motes, and said means for transmitting being disposed proximate to said second mote.

33. A system comprising:

at least one mote of a first set of motes; and

at least one receiving entity resident in said at least one mote, said at least one receiving entity configured to receive a multi-mote index creation agent from another mote of the first set of motes administered by a first network administrator over a mote network after the at least one mote and the another mote are deployed in the mote network, the multi-mote index creation agent including:

1) instructions to install at least a portion of the received multi-mote index creation agent on the at least one mote,

2) instructions that configure the at least one mote to receive at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes from other motes of the first set of motes, and

3) instructions that configure the at least one mote to aggregate at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes received from the other motes of the first set of motes, forming an aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes; and

at least one multi-mote reporting entity resident in said at least one mote, said at least one multi-mote reporting entity configured to report at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes stored in the at least one mote to an aggregator configured to store (i) the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes from the first set of motes and (ii) one or more mote-addressed content indexes from a second set of motes administered by a second network administrator.

34. The system of claim 33 , wherein said one or more multi-mote content indexes further comprises:

at least one of a sensing function, a control function, a routing information, or a spatial information of a mote-appropriate device.

35. The system of claim 33 , wherein said at least one multi-mote reporting entity is configured to transmit at least one of a sensing function, a control function, a routing information, or a spatial information.

36. The system of claim 33 , wherein said at least one mote comprises:

at least one of a processor, a memory, or a communications device formed from a substrate.

37. The system of claim 33 , wherein the at least one multi-mote reporting entity is configured to report at least a part of the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes without reporting any content stored in the at least one mote.

38. The system of claim 33 , wherein the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes indicates availability of information at a sensing device, a format of information obtained from the device, or a format of commands to query the device.

39. The system of claim 33 , wherein the aggregate of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes of the first set of motes includes data that indicates availability of a light device entity, an electrical device entity, a pressure device entity, a temperature device entity, a volume device entity, an inertial device entity, or an antenna entity.
