Abstract

Methods and/or systems relating to mote networks having one or more mote-addressed content indexes. A part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes are aggregated from a first set of motes.

Claims (55)

1. A method for a first mote of a set of motes, the method comprising:

(a) receiving a multi-mote index creation agent from a second mote of the set of motes;

(b) installing at least a portion of the multi-mote index creation agent on the first mote of the set of motes after the first mote is deployed;

(c) receiving at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes from at least one other mote of the set of motes;

(d) aggregating, with the multi-mote index creation agent, at least a portion of the at least a part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes into at least one aggregated mote-addressed content index; and

(e) transferring at least a part of the at least one aggregated mote-addressed content index to an aggregator configured to store the at least a part of the at least one aggregated mote-addressed content index.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said (d) aggregating further comprises:

creating one or more multi-mote content indexes of the first set of motes, wherein the one or more multi-mote content indexes comprise information indicating a first type of sensing or control capabilities associated with the set of motes and a second type of sensing or control capabilities associated with the set of motes.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein further comprises:

obtaining a listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein said creating further comprises:

obtaining a listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes from a multi-mote registry.

5. The method of claim 2 , wherein said creating further comprises:

obtaining a pre-loaded listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes.

6. The method of claim 2 , wherein said creating further comprises:

obtaining a listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes from one or more motes to be included in the listing.

7. The method of claim 2 , wherein said creating or said (c) receiving further comprises:

receiving at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index from a reporting entity disposed at a mote of the set of motes.

8. The method of claim 2 , wherein said creating or said (c) receiving further comprises:

receiving at least a part of at least one mote-addressed routing index from a reporting entity disposed at a mote of the set of motes.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein said (c) receiving further comprises:

receiving at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index from a multi-mote reporting entity disposed at a mote of the set of motes.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein said (c) receiving further comprises:

receiving at least a part of a mote-addressed routing index and a mote-addressed spatial index from a multi-mote reporting entity disposed at a mote of the set of motes.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more mote-addressed content indexes received from the at least one other mote of the set of motes include:

identifiers of devices available at a mote of the set of motes, and

information indicating sensing and control capabilities associated with the devices.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein said (d) aggregating further comprises:

aggregating at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index, a mote-addressed control index, or a mote-addressed routing index of the at least a part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes received from the at least one other mote of the set of motes.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein said (d) aggregating further comprises:

aggregating at least a part of a mote-addressed routing index of a multi-mote content index.

14. A mote of a set of motes, the mote comprising:

at least one device formed with a substrate having at least two of a semi-autonomous computing functionality, a communication functionality, or a sensing functionality; and

a multi-mote index creation agent,

wherein the mote is configured to:

receive the multi-mote index creation agent from another mote of the set of motes;

install at least a portion of the multi-mote index creation agent on the mote after the mote is deployed; and

receive at least a part of one or more mote-addressed content indexes from at least one other mote of the set of motes,

wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is configured to:

aggregate at least a portion of the at least a part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes into at least one aggregated mote-addressed content index, and

wherein the mote is further configured to:

transfer at least a part of the at least one aggregated mote-addressed content index to an aggregator configured to store the at least a part of the at least one aggregated mote-addressed content index.

15. The mote of claim 14 , wherein the at least a part of the one or more mote-addressed content indexes comprise information indicating at least one of sensing or control capabilities associated with the first set of motes, and wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to create, one or more multi-mote content indexes of the first set of motes.

16. The mote of claim 15 , wherein obtaining the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to obtain a listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes.

17. The mote of claim 15 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to obtain a listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes from a multi-mote registry.

18. The mote of claim 15 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to obtain a pre-loaded listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes.

19. The mote of claim 15 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to obtain a listing of motes appropriate to at least one of the one or more multi-mote content indexes from one or more motes to be included in the listing.

20. The mote of claim 15 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to receive at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index from a reporting entity disposed at a particular mote of the set of motes.

21. The mote of claim 15 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to receive at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed routing index or a mote-addressed spatial index from a reporting entity disposed at a particular mote of the set of motes.

22. The mote of claim 14 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to receive at least a part of at least one of a mote-addressed sensing index or a mote-addressed control index from a multi-mote reporting entity disposed at a particular mote of the set of motes.

23. The mote of claim 14 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to receive at least a part of a mote-addressed routing/spatial index from a reporting entity disposed at a particular mote of the set of motes.

24. The mote of claim 14 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to:

create an aggregate of at least a part of one or more multi-mote content indexes of the set of motes, the one or more multi-mote content indexes of the set of motes including network addresses of devices coupled with the set of motes.

25. The mote of claim 24 , wherein the multi-mote index creation agent is further configured to aggregate at least a part of at least two of a mote-addressed sensing index, a mote-addressed control index, or a mote-addressed routing/spatial index of a multi-mote content index.
