Immunostimulatory nucleic acid molecules
View Patent ↗Nucleic acids containing unmethylated CpG dinucleotides and therapeutic utilities based on their ability to stimulate an immune response and to redirect a Th2 response to a Th1 response in a subject are disclosed. Methods for treating atopic diseases, including atopic dermatitis, are disclosed.
1. A method for of promoting a Th1 immune response in a subject, the method comprising: administering to a subject a first dose of an immunostimulatory nucleic acid; and administering to the subject a second dose of an immunostimulatory nucleic acid, wherein the immunostimulatory nucleic acid comprises a nucleotide sequence comprising 5′-CG-3′ having the formula X 1 X 2 CGX 3 X 4 , wherein C is unmethylated and X 1 , X 2 , X 3 and X 4 are nucleotides and wherein the immunostimulatory nucleic acid is between 8 and 100 nucleotides in length, and includes more than one CpG dinucleotide.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second dose is administered about 7 days after the first dose.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is a human.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein X 1 X 2 is GT and X 3 X 4 is TT.
