Abstract

Golf balls comprising thermoplastic, thermoset, castable, or millable compositions are presently disclosed. These compositions comprise reaction products of polyacids and polyamines. The polyacid is chosen from polymerized fatty polyacids and polyacid telechelics. These compositions can be used in any one or more portions of the golf balls, such as inner center, core, inner core layer, intermediate core layer, outer core layer, intermediate layer, cover, inner cover layer, intermediate cover layer, and/or outer cover layer.

Claims (3)

1. A golf ball comprising at least one thermoplastic, thermoset, castable, or millable material formed from a composition comprising at least one reaction product of at least one polyacid and at least one polyamine, wherein the polyacid is chosen from polymerized fatty polyacids and polyacid telechelics, and wherein the polymerized fatty polyacid is epoxidized.

A golf ball comprising at least one thermoplastic, thermoset, castable, or millable material formed from a composition comprising at least one reation product of at least one polyacid and at least one polyamine, wherein the polyacid is chosen from polymerized fatty polyacids and polyacid telechelics, and wherein the polyamine is a telechelic chosen from polymethylene-di-p-aminobenzoate, poly(1,4-butanediol)-bis(4-aminobenzoate), polyethyleneglycol-bis(4-aminobenzoate), polytetramethylene ether glycol-di-p-aminobenzoate, polypropyleneglycol-di-p-aminobenzoate, and mixtures thereof.

A golf ball comprising at least one thermoplastic, thermoset, castable, or millable material formed from a composition comprising at least one reaction product of at least one polyacid and at least one polyamine, wherein the polyacid is chosen from polymerized fatty polyacids and polyacid telechelics, and wherein the polyacid is chosen from polymerized fatty poiyacids and polyacid telechelics, and wherein the reaction product comprises at least two amine terminal end-groups and at least two amide linkages, and wherein the composition further comprises at least one reactant chosen from isocyanates and curatives.
