Abstract

An embossed carrier tape includes a plurality of device pockets (device holes) in which electronic devices are held one by one; and support portions each of which is formed at a surrounding area of each of the device pockets. The support portions are of step-shaped on which the electronic devices are put and supported.

Claims (7)

1. An embossed carrier tape, comprising:

a plurality of groups of pillar-shaped support portions that are integrally connected to the embossed carrier tape and that extend outward from a front side of the embossed carrier tape, the support portions of each group being arranged to provide a device pocket for holding a rectangular electronic device;

a plurality of pairs of cover tape sealing portions that are integrally connected to the embossed carrier tape and that extend outward from the front side of the embossed carrier tape, each cover tape sealing portion having a top with a region that is substantially flat, the device pockets provided by the groups of support portions being disposed between the pairs of cover tape sealing portions; and

a plurality of additional groups of pillar-shaped support portions that are integrally connected to the embossed carrier tape and that extend outward from a rear side of the embossed carrier tape, the support portions of each additional group being arranged to provide a device pocket for holding a rectangular electronic device.

2. An embossed carrier tape according to claim 1 , wherein each group of support portions includes four pairs of support portions, each pair supporting a corner of the electronic device held in the device pocket provided by the respective group.

An embossed carrier tape according to claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of pairs of additional cover tape sealing portions that are integrally connected to the embossed carrier tape and that extend outward from the rear side of the embossed carrier tape, each cover tape sealing portion having a top with a region that is substantially flat, the device pockets provided by the additional groups of support portions being disposed between the pairs of additional cover tape sealing portions.

4. An embossed carrier tape according to claim 1 , the embossed carrier tape has a base portion, and therein the support portions have longitudinal axes that are oriented substantially perpendicular to the base portion.
