Abstract

The combination of a soft-goods item of folded fabric adapted to be displayed in a stack, and labeling for each item, has at least one band engaged around the item, spanning at least one of the narrow edge surfaces of the item. A self-supporting tag has a pair of slots spaced from each other and defining a labeling information carrying portion therebetween, and a pair of straps extending along each slot. The tag is threaded on the band which extends through both of the slots, and the tag is positioned at the edge surface so that the labeling information carrying portion is visible at the edge surface in a stack of the such items.

Claims (22)

a soft-goods item in the form of a folded fabric item;

at least one band engaged around the item and spanning at least one of the edge surfaces;

a self-supporting tag having a pair of slots spaced from each other and defining an information carrying portion therebetween and a pair of straps extending along each slot, the tag being threaded on the band which extends through both of the slots, and the tag being positioned at the at least one edge surface so that the information carrying portion is visible at the at least one edge surface and in a stack of the items; and

labeling information concerning the item at the information carrying portion.

2. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the folded fabric item is selected from the group consisting of: a folded garment, a folded towel, a folded sheet and a folded blanket.

3. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the tag is made of flexible material so that at least one of the straps and the information carrying portion bend to accommodate the band.

4. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the tag is made of synthetic polymer material which is translucent and has a high coefficient of friction with respect to the band.

5. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the tag is made of PVC.

6. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the labeling information is printed on a surface of the information portion facing outwardly from the item.

7. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the labeling information is printed of raised letters that are raised from the surface of the information carrying portion.

8. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the tag is rectangular and the slots are straight and parallel to each other.

9. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the band is a ribbon added to the item for displaying the tag.

10. An arrangement according to claim 9 , including a crossing ribbon around the item and transverse to the first mentioned ribbon forming the band.

11. An arrangement according to claim 1 , wherein the item is a folded garment and the band is a belt that forms part of the item for displaying the tag.

12. An arrangement comprising the combination of a soft-goods item that is adapted to be displayed in a stack, and labeling for each item, each item of soft-goods having relatively broad upper and lower surfaces and relatively narrow edge surfaces, the arrangement comprising:

a soft-goods item in the form of a folded fabric selected from the group consisting of: a folded garment, a folded towel, a folded sheet and a folded blanket;

at least one band engaged around the item and spanning at least one of the edge surfaces;

a self-supporting tag having a pair of slots spaced from each other and defining an information carrying portion therebetween and a pair of straps extending along each slot, the tag being threaded on the band which extends through both of the slots, and the tag being positioned at the at least one edge surface so that the information carrying portion is visible at the at least one edge surface and in a stack of the items; and

labeling information in the form of size information concerning the item at the information carrying portion.

13. An arrangement according to claim 12 , wherein the tag is made of flexible material so that at least one of the straps and the information carrying portion bend to accommodate the band.

14. An arrangement according to claim 12 , wherein the tag is made of synthetic polymer material which is translucent and has a high coefficient of friction with respect to the band.
