Abstract

In a first aspect, a method (e.g., of operating a gaming device) is provided. The method includes the steps of (i) receiving audio/video content; (ii) associating a plurality of sets of outcome values with the audio/video content; (iii) determining a play session; (iv) determining which of the plurality of sets of outcome values to associate with the audio/video content for a duration of the play session, thereby determining an active set of outcome values; (v) determining a result of a game play during the session; (vi) selecting, based on the result, a value from the active set of outcome values; and (vii) outputting, as an indication of the result, the audio/video content and an indication of the selected value.

Claims (12)

1. A method of operating a gaming device including a memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, said method comprising:

(a) receiving a wager from a player;

(b) upon receiving the wager from the player, causing a processor to execute the plurality of instructions to randomly generate one of a plurality of different numbers;

(c) after the random generation of the number, accessing a database that includes each of the plurality of different numbers, each different number being preassociated with one of a plurality of different audio/video segments and one of a plurality of different game results, said audio/video segments produced for a purpose other than for inclusion on the gaming device;

(d) determining which audio/video segment and game result are preassociated with the randomly generated number regardless of any player input;

(e) causing at least one display device to display said determined audio/video output segment and said determined game result to the player; and

(f) determine an outcome value based on the determined game result.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the database includes information about elements of audio/video content previously output to the player.

3. The method of 1 , wherein the audio/video segments include at least one selected from the group consisting of: a television show, an animated show, a movie and a sporting event.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of outcome values is a value less than zero.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the database includes a plurality of different outcome values.

6. The method of claim 2 , wherein the information further includes information about which of a plurality of outcome values were previously displayed to the player.
