Method for printing an image
View Patent ↗A method of receiving image data indicative of an image and providing to a printer print data, corresponding to said image data, the print data being in a predetermined print format and having a predetermined print resolution, the method including the steps of receiving the image data, converting the image data into first format data having a first predetermined resolution, converting the first format data into the print data and making the print data available to a printer for printing.
1. A method of receiving image data, indicative of an image, and providing to a printer print data, corresponding to said image data, the print data being in a predetermined print format and having a predetermined print resolution, the method including the steps of:
receiving the image data;
converting the image data into first format data having a first predetermined resolution;
converting the first format data into the print data; and
making the print data available to a printer for printing,
wherein the image data is in Bayer format and has a predetermined image resolution.
2. A method according to claim 1 wherein the first format is different from the print format.
3. A method according to claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the first data has a predetermined continuous tone resolution.
4. A method according to claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the print data is of predetermined bi-level dot resolution.
5. A method according to claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the image data is in a red, green and blue (RGB) format and the printer is responsive to a cyan, magenta and yellow (CMY) format, the method further including the step of converting the print data from the RGB format to the CMY format.
6. A method according to claim 1 or claim 2 , the method further including the step of manipulating at least one of the image data, the first format data or the print data.
7. A method according to claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the image data is selectively adjusted for providing the image in a predetermined rotational orientation.
