Abstract

A silver halide color photosensitive material comprising a support and, superimposed thereon, at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein (i) the specified speed of the photosensitive material is 350 or higher, (ii) the coating amount of silver in the photosensitive material is 7 g/m 2 or less, and (iii) any of the color-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers is composed of two or more silver halide emulsion layers of different photographic speeds, of which the silver halide emulsion layer with the highest photographic speed contains tabular silver halide grains of 8 or greater aspect ratio in a ratio of 70% or more based on the total projected area and regular-crystal silver halide grains of 0.1 to 0.5 μm equivalent sphere diameter in a ratio of 0.5 to 5% based on the total projected area.

Claims (9)

1. A silver halide color photosensitive material comprising a support and, superimposed thereon, at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein

(i) the specified speed of the photosensitive material is 350 or higher,

(ii) the coating amount of silver in the photosensitive material is 7 g/m 2 or less, and

(iii) any of the color-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers is composed of two or more silver halide emulsion layers of different photographic speeds, of which the silver halide emulsion layer with the highest photographic speed contains tabular silver halide grains of 8 or greater aspect ratio in a ratio of 70% or more based on the total projected area and regular-crystal silver halide grains of 0.1 to 0.5 μm equivalent-sphere diameter in a ratio of 0.5 to 5% based on the total projected area.

2. The silver halide color photosensitive material according to claim 1 , wherein the regular-crystal silver halide grains are those spectrally sensitized.

3. The silver halide color photosensitive material according to claim 1 , wherein the photosensitive material contains compound (A) which is a heterocyclic compound having one or more heteroatoms, the compound capable of substantially increasing the sensitivity of the silver halide color photosensitive material by addition thereof as compared with that exhibited when the compound is not added.

4. The silver halide color photosensitive material according to claim 1 , wherein the coating amount of silver is 5 g/m 2 or less.

5. The silver halide color photosensitive material according to claim 3 , wherein the compound (A) is represented by the following general formula (I):

Where Z 1 represents a group for forming a heterocycle having one or two heteroatoms including the nitrogen atom of the formula; each of X 1 and X 2 independently represents a sulfur atom, an oxygen atom, a nitrogen atom (N(Va)) or a carbon atom (C(Vb)(Vc)), each of Va, Vb and Vc independently represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; n 1 is 0, 1, 2 or 3, a plurality of X 2 may be the same or different when n 1 is 2 or greater; X 3 represents a sulfur atom, an oxygen atom or a nitrogen atom; and the bond between X 2 and X 3 is single or double, wherein X 3 may further have a substituent or a charge.
