Abstract

Polycarbonate substrates having low concentration of defects are disclosed. The substrates are suitable for producing molded articles characterized by low cloudiness.

Claims (15)

- 8 . Cancelled

. A process of making an article selected from the first group consisting of discs, motor-vehicle glazing, headlamp diffusers and sheets comprising obtaining a polycarbonate resin having a concentration of optically detectable surface defects that is fewer than 250 defects per m 2 , measured on an extruded film of 200 μm in thickness and forming the article by a process selected from the second group consisting of injection molding, extrusion and extrusion blow molding.

. The process of claim 9 wherein the concentration is fewer than 150 defects per m 2 .

. The sheet prepared by the process of claim 9 .

. The disc prepared by the process of claim 9 .

. The headlamp diffuser prepared by the process of claim 9 .

. The glazing prepared by the process of claim 9 .

. The sheet prepared by the process of claim 10 .

. The disc prepared by the process of claim 10 .

. The headlamp diffuser prepared by the process of claim 10 .

. The glazing prepared by the process of claim 10 .

. The sheet of claim 11 characterized in having cloudiness of less than 0.5%.

. The disc of claim 12 characterized in having cloudiness of less than 0.5%.

. The headlamp diffuser of claim 13 characterized in having cloudiness of less than 0.5%.

. The glazing of claim 14 characterized in having cloudiness of less than 0.5%.
