Method for decreasing sebum production
View Patent ↗The present invention is directed to the topical application of the malonamide ACAT inhibitors described by Formula I. Other aspects of the invention are directed to topical formulations of these diamides, their use to treat sebaceous gland disorders and their use to alleviate oily skin.
1. A method for decreasing sebum secretion comprising the topical administration of an effective amount of N-benzyl-N′-(2,6-diisopropyl-phenyl)-N-isopropyl-malonamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a patient in need thereof.
2. A method for alleviating oily skin comprising the topical administration of an effective amount of N-benzyl-N′-(2,6-diisopropyl-phenyl)-N-isopropyl-malonamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a patient in need thereof.
3. A method for treating acne comprising the topical administration of an effective amount of N-benzyl-N′-(2,6-diisopropyl-phenyl)-N-isopropyl-malonamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a patient in need thereof.
